Access to Lake Of The Woods (53 min), Rainy River (10min), and Rainy Lake (55min), all within an hour's drive. Minutes away from Franz Jevne and Nelson's Landing boat launches, onto the Rainy River. This campground has NO sewer/toilets (except the outhouse) but does have two 20 amp outlets for campers. There is plenty of campfire wood on the ground, and you're welcome to burn in designated areas, only, please. This campground boasts trails located on the property and is surrounded by state forests with miles of trails. Manitou trail is located just a 1/4 mile from the property for hiking and ATVs. Additionally, if you're looking for a hunting or fishing camp this fall, this campground would be a great home base for you. The beautiful forest has been in our family for 90 years. My great grandfather farmed the land and raised 10 children on this land. He also worked in the pulp and paper mills in nearby International Falls. The original house is still there which is my grandfather's son and host of the property. A short distance down the road, my grandfather's brother had a farm and raised 13 children. Seeing the so many stars, witnessing the Northern lights, seeing wildlife in their natural habitat has provided joy to so many descendants that lived and visited this beautiful place. As stated, delicious water is available behind the pizza restaurant in Bigfork, with a dumpsite as well. Just south of Bigfork is the Chippewa National Forest w/ many emerald green clear pristine lakes and a Visitor Center in Marcell. Whether going to Voyageurs or The North Shore, true northern wilderness, is here.
