The Buffalo Farm

2 sites · Lodging450 acres · Marshall, AR
Ratchford Buffalo Farms is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on roughly 500 acres. Where our Buffalo, Cattle and other animals graze in the meadows and fields and roam the hills and hollows and drink from 11 free flowing springs. My family has lived in these parts for over 150 years ever since my great grandfather settled here from Georgia. This land has been used for may things. From raising cotton, corn, hogs, cattle and at one time my family was one of the largest strawberry producers in the state and always raised a large vegetable garden. I can still remember my daddy plowing this ground with a big black team of mules. For the past 20 years we have raised Buffalo. But the commitment has always been the same. Taking the time to help your neighbor, even if he does not ask. Keeping your word, a man is only as good as his word . Treating people fairly and with respect, if you can not respect others you can not respect yourself. And for each generation to leave the land in better shape than when you started farming it.

Ozarks Rocky Ridge

5 sites · Tents180 acres · Yellville, AR
Camp and enjoy nature on our Rocky Ridge of 180 acres located in the Ozark Mountains. Located along the scenic route highway 14 with several attractions and downtown located nearby. The property is mostly dense forest with lots of rock formations and bluffs with a spring fed creek that has several medium and small waterfalls that surround the property on 3 sides. The creek travels 3 miles from our property and empties into Bull Shoals Lake. Bull Shoals is a short 6 mile drive from the property. The land is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, turkey, bobcats, turtles, squirrels, and though we have never seen any black bear, we have been told they are here. Please be aware that along with all the wonders of wildlife, there may also be, ticks, mosquitoes, deer flies, snakes and other not so nice wildlife. Sit back and relax while you watch nature, beautiful sunrises, sunsets and stargaze at the beautiful night sky. We hope you will enjoy visiting as much as we enjoy living in this natural wonder of nature. Enjoy the remote wilderness while being just 10 minutes from town. Some of the most popular tourist attractions include: -Bulls Shoals Lake, a popular fishing destination, famous for its white large-mouth and spotted bass populations. It is considered a warm water lake on average and seldom freezes, it has no closed season. Ideal destination for those interested in tubing, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, swimming and boating. -Rush Ghost Town, a 1300-acre historic mining district that includes the buildings, structures, roadways and mines of the Rush mining area. -Buffalo National River, a world-renowned whitewater rafting destination -Bull Shoals Caverns, one of the world’s oldest limestone caverns in the Ozark mountain range -White River, a popular spot for fishing and canoeing -North Central Arkansas Speedway, Pure stock, Hobby/Factory stock, Super Stock, Modifieds, and Sportsman Late Models. The Ridge at Buffalo Point

4 sites · Lodging3 acres · Yellville, AR
Our 3 acres are on the road leading to Buffalo Point river access on the Buffalo National River. The property has history - you can see remnants of the Lynch in-ground waterslide locals enjoyed in the 70s winding down our ridge. The Baker Lodge was built on the slide entrance, with our sleeping cabins overlooking both the trees down the ridge and the slide. The house on property was once a restaurant and was converted to a duplex to host travelers to the Buffalo River years ago. Our acreage adjoins the Buffalo National River Park boundaries and you can explore around the ridge. Buffalo Point is literally at the end of our street. You can hike an amazing trail called Indian Rockhouse - it's interesting and fun every season. Hikes along the Buffalo River Trail are minutes away, and outfitters are within walking distance - they can help you with rafting, kayaking, canoeing and even guided tours and fishing guides.

Woodhill Ridge, Salem Arkansas

2 sites · RVs13 acres · Salem, AR
We are ready to host you and your RV on six peaceful acres of a 12 acre parcel on the edge of Salem, AR city limits. We are right between somewhere and over there, not far from the whatchamacallit (which closes at 5 p.m. and is never open on Sundays). We are located on the bluff of the South Fork of the Spring River. Just across the bridge is public land that has an access point for small boat launching. This river is wadable. Throw a lawn chair in and bring your favorite beverage and sit and soak up the sun. Choose from three available sites – each with at least 30 yards from its nearest neighbor. No water, sewer or electric at sites. Generators welcome. Run it all night if you want. Water is available to fill your fresh water tank for a $5.00 fee. We do have a way you can dump your tanks, but could be tricky for some rigs. There is a $5.00 fee for that as well. Fire ring and picnic table included at each site. Feel free to gather fallen branches for fire wood if you didn’t bring your own. No cutting from trees permitted. We do have occasional burn bans in the area during hot and dry spells, but generally it's in the very midst of summer if a ban does occur. We are pet friendly, but if your pet is not friendly, we ask that you keep it leashed; otherwise, they are free to roam (we cannot be responsible for runaways). Your pet should never be unattended or allowed to infringe upon a neighbor. We are located 18 miles from the MUST-SEE Mammoth Springs and 25 miles from Henderson/Norfork Lake. Both great for a day trip. Salem is in Fulton County – a dry county. BYOB! If you need to go for a beer run, you are looking at a 17 mile trip to Bootleggers, or an 11 mile trip to Barker’s Hilltop Package Store. While you’re here, don’t forget to make a cameo appearance on Critter Cam! We look forward to seeing you.
