This quiet and secluded site is ideal for a peaceful getaway in the Norfolk countryside, set on four and a half acres of flat and level land with spacious pitches. The site is just a 25 minute drive from Sandringham Estate, as well as the Wash, an outstanding bay known for its wetland nature reserve. We camped in a lovely field, with amazing facilities. Clean showers with plentiful hot water, clean toilets and a washing up area. We had an electric pitch right on the edge of the fields with lovely views of the sunset. It wasn't very busy during our stay, so was very peaceful. Close to some great restaurants which were very child-friendly. We paid extra for a campfire each night, but unfortunately, due to the strong winds on our 2nd night, we thought it would be safer to not use this! The campsite manager covered it for us to prevent it getting wet in any case. Lovely place, would definitely stay here again!

Met by James, who’s a very nice fella. I messaged ahead to ask if we could turn up an hour earlier, if the pitch wasn’t busy, and this wasn’t a problem. Nice pitch that was flat with good, clean toilet facilities. A fabulous area which took us on a walk to Castleton and back via Cavedale, which our dog loved. Back at the site, a step through the wall and you’re at the Devonshire Arms pub. We didn’t have a meal there but had great breakfast sandwiches that they serve in the morning. We were there at the weekend, so not sure of opening times in the week.

I recently visited with my dog. I was meant to stay for two nights (had campervan issues). But the night I did stay was ideal for what I needed. Lovely spot with great views to pitch up. Toilet and cleaning area was kept incredibly clean. Access to the site was easy to navigate and Ann the host was excellent when it came to communicating and advice on places to visit. Plenty of walks in the area and there is a pub within walking distance with is always an added bonus. Will definitely visit again.

What a lovely little camp site, it was soooo quiet and the weather was perfect. We went for a really nice walk upto the village through the fields, we met with the Church Warden and his wife, who were so lovely, then we went down to the pub for dinner one night too. The site is just right for what I wanted, I don't like all those sites with perfect pitches and lots of rules. My family came over to join me for a bbq, after Id asked Ann first, as the site was not busy on the Sunday, and Ann popped over to say hello. It was just perfect. Thank you Ann, we will be back.

If the answer is fair to middling, Damside Campsite might just be the place for you: this pop-up spot is surrounded by the glorious wilderness of Peak District National Park. That’s the deal at Garth Farm Caravan and Camping in Hollym, less than 10 minutes’ drive from Withernsea’s coast and 40 minutes from Hull. It's all trees and open fields in the surrounds of this family-run East Yorkshire site, and the pleasing rural views continue at Toffling Hill Reserve (a few minutes’ walk), a place of grassy areas, boundary trees and a shallow pond to explore. Continue your amble for a further 15 minutes to hit the woodland, meadow and open water of Hollym Carrs Reserve, where you should certainly keep an eye out for a variety of birds, mammals and insects while you wander. We are located 2 miles from Withernsea, the nearest beach and seaside town. Surrounded by trees and open fields the site is off the beaten track with two nature reserves within walking distance. Within a 10 minute walk there is a village pub and garden centre and cafe.

This quiet and secluded site is ideal for a peaceful getaway in the Norfolk countryside, set on four and a half acres of flat and level land with spacious pitches. The site is just a 25 minute drive from Sandringham Estate, as well as the Wash, an outstanding bay known for its wetland nature reserve. There are 35 non electric grass pitches available, suitable for caravans, tents and trailer tents. Two dogs are also allowed per pitch (although they must remain on leads). The sunsets are spectacular here, and on a clear night, the stars are an astronomer's dream. Plus, the facilities are quirky and clean, with spiders evicted daily. Small, quiet family-run site in the Peak District National Park A 15-minute drive from Buxton, the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail Pet-friendly pub five minutes’ walk away; barbecues permitted on site Fields Farm Campsite is just the place for a peachy Peak District break. Just outside of a rural village named Peak Forest in the national park, this site is a walkers’ haven, with the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail just 15 minutes’ drive away (along with Buxton, a classic Peak District town with a spa history, meaning you can pamper yourself on this day out). Handily, there are walks direct from the door too. You can get to Eldon Hole in just over 10 minutes and dubbed one of the seven wonders of the Peak District, the pothole is an impressive sight.
