Beautiful Adults only peaceful site, open all year round. We purchased this peaceful secluded 15 acre piece of land, consisting of a 3 acre lake, in early 2015. Our beautiful Log Cabin (KINGFISHER) was completed in May 2017 and the static homes style lodges, (LAVENDER AND SUNFLOWER) in April 2021. Kingfisher is a more rustic vibe with log burner and oil filled radiators for heating and Lavender and Sunflower are more modern vibe with gas central heating. Lavender and Sunflower both have ramp access. They all have their own personal jetty and veranda to fish from. You can also fish anywhere around the lake as we do not allow day tickets. Kingfisher has 3 bedrooms, so sleeps 3 singles or 3 couples. The other two have 2 bedrooms, so sleeps just 2 singles or 2 couples. It is such a peaceful haven. All your troubles just disappear when you arrive. The calming beauty of the lake is inspiring. We want this to become our very own nature reserve, encouraging nesting of all kinds to mature to full potential. We want you to share on our journey and progress along the way. We don’t look on this as a business, but a ‘home from home’. It is our secretive safe haven, nestled nicely in-between Boston and Skegness in a peaceful surrounding – there is no traffic apart from the occasional Spitfire or Lancaster flying by! Also, depending on what time of year, the occasional combine harvester or tractor working the surrounding fields. Please note that our fishing village and cabin site are for adults only, no children or pets are allowed. We may welcome well behaved and experienced fishing people from the age of 15 years upwards. Perfect for those that want to get back to basics in nature, the wagon comfortably sleeps 2 people and includes a private bathroom, washing and kitchen cabin. The Orchard Wagon has a double bed (1.5m x 2m) with a smart little wood-burning stove to keep you toasty as you watch the stunning Suffolk sunsets. White Egyptian cotton sheets and towels provided. Cooking couldn’t be easier with the well-equipped cooking cabin next door or the barbeque on the stone terrace in front. Fire up the Chiminea to keep you warm as you eat al fresco. Take the stepping stone path up behind the wagon to find the washing shed with three separate rooms for washing up, showering, and the composting loo. Plenty of hot water and for those who like communing with nature try showering with the door open - it’s a lovely experience and what a view. This is camping in style!

Weekend Trip to The Orchard Wagon

The lovely wagon by the apple trees farm. Bed room, toilet, shower, everywhere is clean, tidy, and organised. Very quiet, no one distracted us. Lots of starts in the night, wake up with sun rise.. .... Everything was super perfect!! Caroline, the host was generouse and kind , too. We defnitly get back the wagon again!

Where to go

Around Norwich

There’s no need to travel far outside of Norwich to find quality campsites. Several glamping, camping, and caravan sites stand within walking distance of the town centre, so it’s easy to tick off city sightseeing along with more rural romps. To the east, Whitlingham Country Park leads into several wetland nature reserves, popular among birdwatchers and walkers.

The Broads

Arguably Norfolk’s premier outdoor attraction, the Broads National Park links Norwich to the coastline through an extensive network of navigable waterways. Luxury retreats, no-frills field sites, and family-friendly campgrounds line the riverbanks, providing plenty of overnight options for boaters, kayakers, bikers, and hikers.

Thetford Forest & the Brecks

Head a short way inland to discover the unusual mix of heathland, woodland, and balmy microclimate unique to the Brecks. Working farms, touring parks, and back-to-basics campgrounds provide a convenient base to explore the region’s nature-rich trails and rivers, which are ideal for a spot of wild swimming.

The Wash & Norfolk Coast AONB

On the edge of the Fens, the Wash estuary is a must-see for wildlife watchers, with its salt marshes and mudflats housing all manner of flora and fauna. Follow the coastline east into the Norfolk Coast AONB and discover quintessential English seaside, with holiday parks, glampsites, and wild-style coastal camps letting adventurers bed down beneath the dark Norfolk sky.

When to go

Norfolk is especially busy during the summer season, so if you’re keen to beat the crowds, consider timing your visit between September and April, when less foliage means better views of the region’s wildlife and you’re almost certain to secure a seat for a cosy pub lunch. Be aware that some camping sites close for winter.

Know before you go

Norwich is around two hours’ train journey from London Liverpool Street, and the north coast further still. Consider catching a direct coach or, if you’re headed to a more secluded spot, bringing your own vehicle—though be aware that driving is discouraged in some of Norfolk’s rural areas.
Several camping supply shops can be found in and around Norwich, though some campsites also hire gear out, so it’s worth checking before shelling out for new equipment. Similarly, many campsites offer boat or cycle hire, especially around the Broads.
