We absolutely loved our stay at The Mountain Shack & having the whole place to ourselves in the middle of nature. It’s such a unique property — full of charm, quirks, and thoughtful touches. We spent the evening playing board games and drinking wine by candlelight, which made it feel like we’d stepped back in time (a little spooky, but in the best possible way!). There’s plenty of space to explore, we ducked into the nearby town to the Settlers Arms pub during the day, where there was live music playing in the courtyard, it was lovely. The hosts were incredibly communicative and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re after a rustic, one-of-a-kind getaway, this is it.

We absolutely loved our stay at this unpowered campsite! Christine, the host was beyond amazing. She really does everything & made sure we had a great night’s sleep! Our kids were excited with the campfire experience & had the best time roasting marshmallows (firewood available to purchase on-site). We brought our pickleball set and badminton racquets for some fun outdoor games. The little mini mart at the front was super handy too, the kids grabbed ice creams while we picked up bait for fishing but just remember to bring cash for purchases. Toilets were always clean and the showers had both hot & cold water. Though only Telstra works there, it made our stay feel peaceful & unplugged, yes free screen time for everyone! Make sure to bag your rubbish properly and use the red & yellow bins provided at each site. This helps keep the place as beautiful as Christine maintains it. We can’t wait to come back & already planning our next trip here with friends! Thank you, Christine for being such a wonderful & hardworking host! She truly goes above & beyond to make sure everyone’s comfortable & happy because you can really feel how much care she puts into the place.

Fantastic location with lovely outlook in a quiet & secure area. Neil couldn’t be nicer & helped with water & power for minimal cost. Wonderful service. We have a 15m rig and would have to totally disagree with a previous comment about ease of access. We had clear instructions & Neil even walked down our route but it is extremely easy, we just avoided a lower lying tree. Neil recommended the bakery in Glenorie(won 3 years in a row). An easy 20 minute drive from the M1 (Pacific Motorway) Morisset exit, Wombat Flats Campsite is an exclusive, quiet and private camping area at the back of our 100 acres. On the Central Coast just 1.5 hours from Sydney is this relaxing peaceful escape suitable for a few families or a group of friends. This place has a truly fascinating history. The huge backyard previously hosted an annual gypsy festival to celebrate International Romani day. The backyard is really the highlight - from the moment you step into it you will feel like you have escaped into your own little paradise. The house itself has 3 bedrooms, with 1 bathroom inside and 1 bathroom outside. Inside the house, which can sleep up to 8 people. In addition to the main house, there are 3 hand-made gypsy style caravans on site. The largest (brown) caravan at the front of the property has a double bed and 2 small single beds - so can sleep up to 4 people. It is suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. The smallest caravan (green) has 2 single beds in it - please note that these beds are narrower than a standard single bed - see photos. Bed linen and Towels are provided only for the main house occupants - you must bring your own linen and towels when staying in the caravans. The medium caravan (blue) is in the backyard and can be used as a cubby house/chill out area or workspace. The house itself has recently been renovated, with care taken to retain its gorgeous vintage fixtures and furniture. There are coloured stained glass windows and lighting pendants throughout the house. This is our family holiday house so we have set it up with everything that you and your family will need to feel comfortable and at home. It’s an absolute paradise for kids with the trampoline, jetty, gypsy cubby house, kayaks and fishing opportunities. Our custom-designed Finnish sauna offers a unique and holistic experience, the combination of heat, dimmed lights, and the smell of cedar or essential oils creates a healing ambience that is both invigorating and comforting. The house is full of Art, books, games, and DVDs, there is also the 'yoga deck' behind the house with even more expansive views of the river - a perfect place to do some morning meditation or enjoy a bowl of pasta as the sun goes down, highlighting the orange of the sandstone cliffs across the river. Surrounded by National Parks and completely free of cars and traffic, this is a beautiful little retreat, perfect for a family or a group of friends to meet up and re centre. At Bar Point there are no shops or cafes so you must bring everything you need with you, basic pantry staples such as salt, pepper, cooking oil etc are provided. Kayaks, fishing poles and crab pots provided. Our own private residence is a separate apartment upstairs, there are no shared walls or internal stairs and you will have your own private entrance, however as it is a large, old wooden house you may at times hear us moving about upstairs, naturally we try to be as quiet as possible when we have guests visiting. We will leave you entirely to yourselves but if you do need any help or information or even a little guided walking tour of the locality we are very happy to accommodate you. Our sauna deck is a shared area which guests are welcome to use, heating the sauna takes an hour or two, so just let us know and we will get it all ready for you with fresh towels, scented oils and branches of freshly cut lavender or wormwood to create a beautiful ambience.

You will have exclusive use of the outdoor bathroom, including an amazing outdoor bath overlooking the river. The camping spot and outdoor bathroom are a good distance from the cabin, separated by bush and gardens. The available area is mostly flat, suitable for tents, camper trailer, or vans. On the site you can have multiple tents/vans to fit your group up to 8 people. Our property is just 30mins from Windsor, in the beautiful Hawkesbury Region. You'll arrive via 2.5km of winding dirt road, suitable for 2wd, subject to potholes after heavy rain. The road may not be suitable for larger vans due to a few tight corners. Camping Rules: Do not light a fire without approval from owners. Approval for a fire is dependent on weather, conditions, and restrictions. Fires must be kept small. No chainsaws or generators. No Pets. No Parties or Extra Guests without approval. Do not drive or park in sign posted areas. Reduce noise after 11pm. Leave the bathroom clean. No littering. Dispose of rubbish in the bins on WBR Road Provided: WIFI, power for small devices, complimentary shampoo/conditioner/soap, tank water (suitable for bathing, not drinking). 1 barrel of wood (small fire for 1 night) Available: Refill of wood for $30 Activities: If conditions are right you can light a campfire and enjoy the night sky. Bush walk along the cliff top and down to Colo River. Access the river from a small jetty, swim across to the beach. Note the river is tidal and the currents can be strong. Bike ride or walk along the local roads surrounded by bush, spot the koalas, wombats, wallabies and bandicoots. Bird watching including finches, honey eaters, wrens, lyrebirds, black cockatoos, eagles, etc. Walk through the veggie garden and help yourself to some herbs. Take a drive into Windsor or explore the surrounding area. Some local roads will suit 4wd.

Guests have use of the 3 buildings in this area which are Hall area, BBQ kitchen and bathrooms. There is a designated area for pitching tents or camp trailers. Guests have direct access for swimming to Webbs Creek this area is a shared area. Camp Bunya is a private campsite for group bookings. We offer our site to guests who want privacy and seclusion, enjoy the great outdoors and choose to make a little extra noise without upsetting the neighbours. Water access for swimming is available at your own beach. Toilets and shower amenities are provided. There is no power or cooking facilities, however a BBQ can be provided for hire. Welcome to our Cabin, Van and Camping park! Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or a permanent change of lifestyle, this could be the place for you! Located on a working property in the Hunter Valley, amidst beautiful vineyards and picturesque scenery, 15 minutes from Pokolbin, 30 minutes from Singleton or Cessnock, 20 minutes from historical Wollombi. We have vans and cabins on site for permanent accommodation. All prices include water, Wi-Fi and electricity. We also have powered and non-powered short term sites. Water is not potable. There are numerous cellar doors and restaurants within 1 - 12 kilometers where you can dine and taste the finest food and wine in the district. Pokolbin is 15mins to the east where you can visit Harrigans Irish Pub, numerous cellar doors and restaurants. Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions. Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport. Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city. Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice. Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south. Check in and checkout times are flexible.
