Amazing views, long haul of gear
We loved this spot which we had to ourselves, amazing. It took about 15 minutes of pushing the wheelbarrow full of gear to get to the campsite. It was hard for us to find out which trail to take because the super friendly guy forgot that we were coming (Monday night, odd time to camp) and he wasn't there to greet us (they warned of this on Hipcamp). Slide Ranch has a lot of different programs, with lots of different signs but not real clear signage that says - tent campers go this way. Even the Hipcamp description was a little hard to follow once we arrived at the parking lot. You camp on this amazing clearing right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. The camping area is about the size of a baseball diamond and they have about 8 big yurts 10 feet apart. A big yurt houses tables and a kitchen. If there were other people there, I think it would have felt a little cramped. A short walk takes you down to the waters edge for tidepool gazing and low tide watching the waves, high tide might not offer much room for that. Great pelican viewing and the smell of grass and ocean and fog was wonderful. It was tough to camp and eat cold food in the am, even backpacking you can heat up a cup of tea, but we survived. The $230/night cost was a little hard to swallow. BUT, the dude we talked to was super nice and I know that they do good work on the ranch. The $ is a donation to the Ranch, right? So it was a winner, unforgettable overall.

A gorgeous camping spot in Marin
Slide Ranch is a fantastic organization that hosts school groups to teach kids about nature. I was so happy when I found out you can camp here. Our spot overlooked the ocean with a stunning view. We were also able to visit with chickens and ducks, see wild quail everywhere, and walk through their organic garden. Another plus: A short drive from Stinson Beach and Muir Beach.

Incredible setting. This is our second time at the Slide Ranch Tents and we will come back again!
Thank You, Colette

Nice views and beautiful stargazing but not safe for kids (poison oaks and coyotes). There were other people using picnic area whole day with dog, there were 2 tents allowed but at evening arrived more people and just pinched their tents. It’s overpriced for place just with view without any person who can handle questions. There are metallic stick on trail to garden and our young one felt on it right before leaving.

Best Night of Sleep EVER!
We recently spent a night at Slide Ranch in Tent #1 to check it out. We'd seen those tents on our hike so long -- it was nice to finally experience ocean front glamping at Slide! We woke up around midnight and went outside to enjoy the glorious sky and moonlight!
Despite the cold fog and windy evening, the tent was so warm and cozy. We had the BEST night of sleep we've had in a long time -- the linens and bed was so so comfortable and warm. Slide gives you a table and lantern. Our lantern didn't hold its charge so check it early or bring your own lights. Luckily, we brought our own little lantern and headlamps.
Slide doesn't offer their dinners right now/anymore, so they recommend bringing picnic items to pack in and out, which worked out totally fine -- we ate at a nearby picnic bench but bundled up in the wind!
We weren't sure the status of the privy and bathroom logisitics, but the privy was clean and totally low stress. All those logistics worked out totally fine!
I would absolutely recommend this to a friend, but bring layers and a trash bag(s)!
