Bridgeport Reservoir is a lake at the lower end of Bridgeport Valley in Mono County, California. Its earth-filled dam was constructed in 1923 by the Walker River Irrigation District, along the East Walker River. The campground and marina was built I-don't-know-how-long ago, but it sure is nice! About Us: Welcome to Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground. Join us for the classic camping and fishing experience with unique views of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the Toiyabe National Forest, Bridgeport Reservoir Marina and Campground is conveniently located near two distinct hot spring areas. A true angler's paradise, the Reservoir has excellent trout fishing from spring through fall and is close by to multiple rivers for incredible fly fishing. A short 30-minute drive to Tioga pass will bring you straight into the heart of Yosemite National Park. Off-road enthusiasts will have a heyday will the plethora of 4x4 trails in the area as well as the famous trail that brings you right to the Bodie Ghost Town. Climate & Ecosystem: At 6,400 feet (1,950 meters), this high desert climate has little to moderate tree coverage and gets hot during the days and cool at night. The conditions are much like Joshua Tree National Park or Alabama Hills camping area. During your visit, you will notice many flying insects that resemble mosquitos. These Chironomid are harmless and do not bite. On the contrary, the mosquito presence is very minimal. Swimming in the lake is possible usually between April to July.

#27: RV/Tent (Back-in + Water)
Camping at Bridgeport Reservoir
My husband and I were on a road trip down the 395 in mid-April and our first stop was Bridgeport. We chose Chase's property for the price point and the views of the Bridgeport Reservoir. When we arrived, we were quickly checked in and Chase himself greeted us as well. There was renovation being done during that time for the upcoming season, however, so we did not get the spot that we originally booked. We didn't mind, though, as it was during the off season still and no one else had booked the spots by the water. Chase let us know that we could choose whatever spot was open. We stayed for two nights and were pleased with the peace and quiet that his property offered. A big male mountain lion did walk by our campsite on our second night! We saw the giant paw prints the next morning. The bathrooms were clean. We did not use the showers but there are showers offered. The potable water wasn't running during our stay but I figured it was due to the renovation. It wasn't an issue for us as we had packed plenty of water. We also used the fire pits both nights, which were fine. All in all I'd highly recommend booking with Chase if you need a nice place to stay in Bridgeport, and we'd definitely consider staying again in the future!

#9: Pull-Through, Full Hookups
Everyone was very friendly and helpful there. The place was very we kept up. We stayed at the end of Oct so it was pretty cold already and the team helped and let us campers keep our trailers and RVs warm the best we all could. This is a beautiful scenery and I will absolutely be coming back for the summer. This is definitely a big fishing area and Yosemite right in the eye site of the campground. One warning: it is more remote than initially thought, biggest town is about a hour away. The resources started to dwindle in small towns around, so plan accordingly for Oct/Nov stays. Otherwise this would be a great stay .

Quiet and relaxing stay.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Had a nice spot near the bathroom/showers. Great view of the sunset, mountains, and reservoir. Small setting very quiet. Had a great time hiking and kayaking nearby.

Location is very serene, with a great view of a lake to enjoy the sunset/sunrise. Also about an hour and half to some of Mammoth Lakes and about 30 minutes to Mono Lake. The facility has restrooms with flushable toilets that were clean and showers with hot water. They also offered the option to do water activities such as renting a boat. Will definitely recommend this campsite!
