It was exactly what I needed - a safe quiet spot to spend the night mid-way through my road trip. But the directions were a little iffy. The GPS address took me to the power plant and I got turned around.

NEVER AGAIN! My wife and I had a 1 night reservation and we never found the spot. We called Anton never got back to us. I can say after 2 failed attempts at finding his space, the dirt roads were horrific and very very dusty

Followed the road past a power plant, the listing was next to a massive pile of tires and a even with the windows broken, did not feel safe, ended up finding somewhere different

Nightmare horrible road that took you to a place I could not stay the night left covered in heavy road dust and drove to Winnimucca.

Apparently an IT glitch and the location was incorrectly pointed in Eiko, NV, where I was looking for a place to stay. The host mentioned for refunding but I have not received any yet after 2 weeks.

It’s a place to pull off if you’re in the area, ready to set up camp & sit under the stars (but there is light from a nearby power plant) then go to sleep. It’s bare bones, 12-15 minutes North off Hwy80, & you even find an old frig with supplies you might need. It suited us well.

A great way to get some open space and peace and quiet during a long stretch along the I-80 when you don't really have time to stray too far from the Interstate. The area is just a huge expanse of desert, with the usual Nevada desert junk lying around. That's what we expected / needed, and that's what we got. We had a bit of a hard time with the directions at first, but Anton was very attentive to helping us make sure we found the spot. The key missing thing in the directions was distance / mileage. It should say "After XYZ miles, look for ABC. etc.". We were looking for roadside markers in the middle of the night and we didn't initially know if they were 0.1 miles along the road or 10 miles along the road. Way better than a motel, and for us, way better than a normal campground with neighbors close by etc. Saw some interesting wildlife.

Great spot! Far enough from I-80 to avoid road noise, but close enough to still be convenient. Sadly it was too cloudy to see stars during our stay, but we did see a pretty sunset & the mountain views the next morning were nice. The power plant makes a very low hum & we didn't find the noise from 2 trains to be intrusive.

The written directions were a little hard to follow but the host was very helpful and directed me on the phone to where I needed to go. It was a little bit of a drive off of the highway but it was a great spot.

It was nice to have the space to myself under the AMAZING stars. The property is next to the power plant. There is a good amount of junk: tires, fridge, travel van, etc. Wood is provided but bring a hatchet if you want smaller pieces. The entrance in could use more clear signage with the tire stacks. They were toppled over and the spray paint wasn't clear. Beautiful landscape and I would stay again

Anton was very nice when we had to call him to make sure we were at the right spot. There was already a built fire pit, so we stayed near the RV. It was quiet and the power plant created a white-noise effect. We had a great night.

The title should read “camp next to beautiful power plant”. The directions by the road sides were very poorly marked. Heaps of old tires with a little orange spray paint were supposed to guide us but they didn’t. The last turn is not really a road It’s just a couple of very bumpy ruts which must go for at least half a mile before getting to the property. We didn’t stay because it looked like it might rain and we thought if it did we would never get out. It was also very difficult to find places to turn the trailer around and it’s tiny. We had to drive in to Elko and find a place to stay for the night.

A land of freedom in a forgotten land amidst the distant reminders of man. I tended a fire as the stars emerged in a break from the driving winds and occasional snowfall. I brought what I needed and packed it out but took full advantage of what was there. A night well spent.

This hip camp makes you feel truly alone even though you are only 10 minutes from I80. The sunset was gorgeous and Anton was very quick to answer any questions I had. Yes, there is a power plant nearby but it’s pretty quiet and the train passes by at night (also quiet) which was actually pretty cool for our 12 year old son to see. Even waived to the Amtrak. Definitely worth checking out.

Very spacious, secluded spot. Convenient location to the highway but generally quiet even considering it's close to railroad tracks and the powerplant. Dirt road to the site was easy enough to navigate, i would assume low clearance vehicles wouldn't have a problem on it. Anton was very responsive when i had a question about the site

Thanks for a great, safe place to stay as a solo woman! My dog loved the freedom to run around and explore. Anton was very responsive and offered thoughtful recommendations. Found the site easily using both coordinates and tire markers.

Convenient spot — we booked last minute during cross country travel. Communication with host was excellent and quick.
The property is directly adjacent a mid-size power plant. Bright lights (at night) and the constant whirrr of industry didn’t nix the convenience factor, but was a surprise and a little disorienting. Additional noise pollution: multiple trains.
The property itself had odds and ends (read. junk) laying about. Again, a surprise and a little disorienting.

This is my first experience on Hipcamp. Wow, Anton was the most generous and attentive host I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Temps got down to 19 deg. at night. Anton made sure we had plenty of fire wood as we would have been in dire straights without.
This trip was great. Beautiful clear sky’s at night and snow topped mountains around.
If your looking to escape the city or just passing through to your next adventure I highly recommend Antons place.

Absolutely peaceful and beautiful! It was very close to the highway for an overnight trip but there's no highway noise.
There was a water refill at the rest stop adjacent to the property, which was convenient for us.
We were only there one night but we hiked, we birdwatched and we spotted the Nevada Northern Railway train pulling by. We will definitely book here again.
Don't miss this gorgeous spot!
