If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our weekend at Fisher Cat Creek was fantastic! The cabin is so cozy and beautiful and the wood stove kept us plenty warm. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and utensils and plenty of water. We loved spending quiet time in the cabin and exploring the nearby woods and trails. Veronica was quick to respond to our questions and a great host! Hoping to visit in the summer months as well :)
Wonderful space, much to explore!
Although we read the other reviews and thought we knew what to expect, Fisher Cat Creek Forest Retreat exceeded our expectations! Hosts Veronica and David were wonderfully welcoming and laid back. There was so much outdoor space for us to explore! Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog) stayed in the rustic, off-grid cabin, while my sister and husband stayed in their small camper parked next to our cabin. There was plenty of space for us to gather around the campfire, use the picnic table, propane grill and outdoor wash station. Our favorite parts were discovering the trampoline along the mowed trails on the property and walking through the flowing, surprisingly clear waters of the creek. Not only did our kids love jumping on that trampoline, but we found it to be a perfect spot for stargazing on a clear night! Mosquitoes weren't bad, even after a bunch of rain the nights before! The cabin was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The small screen porch on the cabin was great for late night visiting and shelter from the rain. Our kids didn't want to leave and are asking when we can go to Fisher Cat Creek Forest Retreat again!
Outstanding little escape!
We had a lovely stay! The cabin is clean and well-kept with so many fun touches that make it feel extra special. Plus, there were so many cooking utensils and lanterns available to use that we felt like we came over prepared! The site is beautiful and quiet with a tranquil creek about a quarter mile away, and it’s clear that the hosts truly care for their land. The outhouse was very clean, and the main house is close enough if you need something, but overall it felt very private. Highly recommend staying at Fisher Cat Creek if you have the chance! :)
My partner and I stayed at Fisher Cat Creek Forest Retreat for a few days during COVID to unplug and relax; it was a perfect place to stay. The cabin is clean, well-stocked, adorable, and comfortable; our dog enjoyed exploring the short trail near the cabin as well.
Veronica is a wonderful host; she and her husband live on the property, so you always have a resource if you have questions, but you still have privacy of your own space.
I'd definitely recommend staying here (and have done so already!). Thanks for the great stay!
Lot of charm but missing something
First and foremost, the hosts were fantastic. They were friendly and cooperated with us extremely well, which we appreciated. However, the site was not quite up to what was advertised. It appeared there would be a mini-fridge, there wasn't. The site said there was a working wash station, there wasn't. There was supposed to be a water pump, but it was broken. The shower had no privacy at all except the building in between the site and the hosts home. If we had been better prepared for that situation we would have enjoyed our stay, but we weren't. If you are truly prepared for an off-the-grid rustic setting, then this is a great place, with plenty of charm.
I booked the Fischer Cat Creek Cabin for a quick getaway as a surprise for my husband on Father’s Day. The cabin is a great rustic style retreat with some charm. It also worked well for our 2 yo son - not too much he could get in to and he loved being in a “tree house”. Just a heads up for future visits - we brought along our camp stove and were so happy we did so as it was a rainy weekend and the only other cooking sources were an outdoor gas grill or a campfire. Neither of which would have been good options in the rain. We couldn’t check out the trails much on property as it was rainy and muddy so can’t speak to those. Veronica and David greeted us warmly upon our arrival and then we didn’t see them for the rest of the weekend despite their place only being 20-30 yards away. So the cabin felt pretty secluded. Thanks for the stay!
