Description

Northeast of Minocqua, WI, off of Highway 70, is the greatest misnomer there ever was. Bitter Sweet Wild Campground, the largest camping area in the Bittersweet Wild Lakes Area, is as sweet as apple pie. Five sites span four lakes: Prong Lake, Smith Lake, Oberlin Lake, and Bittersweet Lake, and each covet the promise of pure, back country livin’. Car access–four wheel drive highly recommended–and a single, shared boat launch make the Bittersweet Wild Campground a holy grail for the angler, the trapper and the old fashioned naturalist.
