Would reserve again
Super private, quiet spot. Lisa and her husband were very kind in getting us to the campsite. Firewood was provided for us which was a nice surprise. Waking up next to the river was so cozy on our cool autumn morning! The pit toilet was so tidy and clean. And no spiders! Thanks Lisa!
Very nice area and setup. The pit toilet is very clean and in the summer months, the solar shower would be perfect. Hosts are very responsive and helpful. During our stay, the firewood provided was pretty damp and it was hard to get a good fire started initially. Another issue we had was because of the dates, duck hunting was in full force and the neighbors didn’t seem to appreciate when we went kayaking on Saturday afternoon. We also weren’t prepared for gunshots and chainsaws at 6:00am. Overall, the fall colors were beautiful, the weather was very nice and it was great to get out of a typical overcrowded campground.
Good break from school
This was a great campsite in all aspects. We were shown right to the site and set up a tent and hammocks. Two fire pits (one by camp, one by river), bathroom, and everything else was well set up. Good location to enjoy nature, especially sun sets/rises.
We had an amazing experience here! The campsite was absolutely beautiful and felt very private and secluded. The outhouse was very clean and the shower was really useful for washing up. The sunrises on the river were quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed exploring the river in the canoe that we rented. In the evenings, the golden light of the sunset shone through the ferns that covered the forest floor. Pat and Lisa were great hosts and very responsive to all of our questions. Hopefully we will be back soon!
Easily one of our favorite Hipcamps thus far, in spite of the fact that we arrived just as the sky cracked open for the first time all summer. Lisa’s husband showed us to the camp on his ATV in the worst of the downpour. How’s that for hospitality? We had to take off the next morning, but can’t wait to return for a longer (hopefully drier) stay when we can launch the canoe on this beautiful stretch of the river and enjoy a campfire on the banks when we return.
This camp site is amazing! We had the most wonderful time hanging out by the river and enjoying the beautiful trees all around. It really does feel like a private oasis and I would definitely recommend this site. I hope to come back in the future too!
