The Land was Blessed on June 20 1998 in a Sacred Ritual as a Retreat Center dedicated to help people connect to the perpetual healing energies of the Earth.
We call these Energies "Gaia"
To help individuals and families connect to these healing energies we are developing a group camp with a 400sqft camper with a kitchen, shower and composting toilet.
All the grounds and services will be available to all guests. they include:
The Waffle / Espresso Bar; open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
A large sauna with views of the Flambeau river and Sturgeon Bay.
There is a swimming beach on a peninsula, docks, a canoe, 2 kayak a row boat and many other perks for our campers and guests.

What is the Mission of Gaia Dera:
A Dera is a community that that lives together with intention and spiritual guidance. Gaia awareness is found within the center of every Sentient Being.
A historic trading post used to exist cross the river from the camp and the river has inlets with wild rice. The French called the river Flambeau because the natives would harvest the rice at night with torches in their canoes.

We drove by the site and decided it did not meet the standards that we understand Hipcamp promotes. Just too much junk and chaos.
Highly recommended campsites (lowkey a hidden gem). Very private, very peaceful, fishing was great, the sauna was great. + Eugene was a super friendly and chill host.
Eugene was an absolutely amazing host and was able to accommodate to all of my requests. He respects the land he has the pleasure of owning and makes to it to keep it a welcoming place for everyone. I stayed at site #7 which was great! It was right on the river, so i was able to get up and go fishing with ease. The fishing was great! I was able to catch my personal best Smallmouth bass as well as a handful of others. If youre looking for a nice secluded campsite, this is the one for you!
We had an amazing time at Gaia Dera on the Flambeau River! What a treat it was to explore the unique land! Eugene is a wonderful and giving host! We can't wait to return!
