Great getaway outside perth
Fantastic little fruit orchard tucked away in Roleystone. It offers a rustic experience close to the city. Perfect for little weekend getaways! Khalil and his family are wonderfully welcoming making the experience all the more quaint. But note that the site is rustic (although there is a fantastic flushing toilet) so don't expect things to be all snazzy. Take time to interact with Khalil and the family and you'll have a most memorable time.
Unique family-friendly experience!
This was not the standard type of campsite we were used to but we absolutely loved our stay! The entrance to the property was fairly hidden, and the grass was a bit long but provided nice cushioning for our tents. It was lovely having our tents nestled among fruit trees and being able to eat fresh loquats and mandarins (which were in season) from the trees. Nice private property and exceptional hospitality. My 4yo nephew loved his new friends and was obsessed with the giant trampoline- He refused to leave the next day! We loved cuddling the friendly chooks and being able to collect and take home some fresh eggs. Some noise from traffic but did not bother us. Very happy we made the decision to visit. Thank you Khalil and family for making it a wonderful experience for us!
Unsuitable for poptop van and 4wd
Had a nightmare time at this farmstay one week ago with a 16ft poptop van and 4WD.
Unfortunately the owner was away during our brief visit and we only met his son., who assured us at the entrance that our van would be ok. Clearly it wasn't! There was also nothing on the Hipcamp site to say that vans were unsuitable. That has since been changed.
The narrow, awkward entrance meant sawing back a vine to get in and then the orchard trees and narrow pathways between made it incredibly hard to manoevre through. As soon as we realised how difficult it was we tried to leave. It took us from 6:30pm to 10:30 pm with the assistance of 2 friends, who we rangfor help as they lived locally and are expert caravaners. We still couldn't get out of the tight spot. We even had to cut an orchard tree down with a axe when our van got stuck on it.
We abandoned the van overnight. Got a mild electric shock when we plugged the van in to their power cord to keep the fridge going. Left for our friends place to eat and sleep.
Returned next morning with a chainsaw to cut the stump at ground level. It still took us another 2 hours that morning to manaoevre out. We could never have done it without our 2 friends as all eyes were needed.
We left with a substantially damaged van with major costs to repair.
The place itself looked like it could be nice with tents or maybe a camper trailer or maybe a small RV if you don't mind it getting scratched. Hopefully owner will fix the unsafe power supply.
We spoke to the owner on the phone and he was apologetic and agreed to a refund. We had booked and paid for a 3 night stay. We are still waiting for the owner and Hipcamp to approve and organise that refund.
We did not stay at his farm. The farm way was too difficult to access through vehicle. Site is different from that shown in the picture. It was bushy, throny.. As soon as we went there we didn't feel safe in the site and went back to find the other site. Requested the host to refund the money back. Did it receive any reply. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at this site.
Great spot, we enjoyed our stay. Set up works well even in rainy weather with the fire pit being undercover. Getting in and out a little tricky with a caravan but we managed!
Relaxing and comfortable
Nice farmstay, took my grandson camping there, friendly hosts, little bit of road noise, running water from a tap would be great,(near camp shed) and might pay to bring your own chainsaw, (handsaw only provided).
Will definitely be staying there again. Overall, a pleasant stay.
Wonderful property, wonderful hosts
Super friendly and helpful hosts! Beautiful property, cherry blossoms and citrus trees all around. The sound of the water flowing through the creek is lovely. There's a great half open shed where the bonfire is located which is perfect in bad weather. Very friendly chickens keeping you company too 😊 The toilets an actually toilet with running water too which is always nice.
