Set on 3500 acres of natural Jarrah and Marri bushland, this property is ideal for those who love nature and the natural beauty of the West Australian bush. Mandalay Retreat-Farm Stay is one of the largest privately owned Jarrah and Mari forests left in the world, come and experience the beauty and wonder of the natural bush! Set up in the midst of the bush and feel the tranquillity and the natural frequency of the flora and fauna which surrounds you! Mandalay Retreat-Farm Stay has been in the Crane Family for generations and we would like to share the beauty with you. Choose from a range of sites, bush to open spaces, paddocks to part clearings, with thousands of acres, to roam and explore. We welcome larger groups, 4 families for example, and more than happy to assist you at the time of booking with recommendations of suitable sites around the property to ensure your stay is comfortable and you have the space. Please note, we do not provide toilets, so all campers must be self contained with their own camp toilet. We also have a number of rules we ask campers to abide by - please ensure you read and agree to the rules prior to booking. The best times of year to visit Mandalay is between March and November. The winter months can be lovely as you sit back around a beautiful open fire and settle into the serenity. Star gazing at night is incredible - bring your binoculars for those clear nights! The whales arrive along Albany and the South Coast around late May. For the best walking conditions its recommended in Autumn (Between March and May) and in Spring (September to November) Experience the Mt Barker Wineries (known for their cooler climate wines) We have designated 3 sites (Areas) for you to stay. Feel free to discover suitable sites in each designated area. You will find ample wood for your fire pits. There are no designated spots for the fire pits, this is up to you, however please use the rocks to contain the pit, or if you find one to use, please do so. Our farm is around 30 minutes from Mt Barker, 40 minutes from Denmark and only 50 minutes from Albany, Mandalay Retreat - Farm Stay is in the perfect location to set up your base camp and explore the stunning Great Southern. National Parks, World renowned Surf breaks at your door step, Mountains to hike, Wineries and so much more to enjoy! We are surrounded by local wineries, including West Cape Howe, Poachers Ridge, Arcadia and Gilberts. We often use our camp site as a great base to explore and enjoy day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker the Porongurup Ranges and of course the Stirling Ranges and so much more! Mandalay Retreat-Farm Stay is slowly and organically growing to become a host to farm stays in Chalets and Retreats for those looking to escape the city lights and immerse themselves in yoga, meditation and all things nature! If you need to connect to the outside world, Telstra works well, Optus is a little scattered in some areas. Well behaved 4 legged friends are welcome too. (Please refer to our rules) Please NOTE: NO FIREARMS. Please be mindful this property has livestock. No entry to sheds without prior approval from the hosts. We welcome you and your family and furry best friend to Mandalay Retreat - Farm Stay.
