The Overlook @ Wallace is currently a tent or truck camper site.

AWD or 4x4 suggested if you want to park right at the site, otherwise 2 spots available with a short walk to the site. It is nestled amongst the ferns on a hill and overlooks a private waterfall. The site comes appointed with a firepit camping chairs and fairy lights around the perimeter. Just a short walk down the hill from your site and you're at the waterfall/creek!

The site is roughly 38' x 31' and is wood chipped for guests comfort. Tiki torches, and tiki oil along with a citronella candle and a battery operated lantern are provided on the 8ft table at the site. Kindling and free firewood are available while supplies last to the right of the tool shed next to the Overlook parking area.

Signs will guide you to parking and the site itself.

The Property @ Wallace welcomes you through a privately maintained gated road leading to 8 acres with 100ft of Wallace riverfront (including our very own swimming hole!) and backing up to hundreds of acres of DNR and FSB lands for endless hunting, fishing, hiking, rafting, climbing and kayaking options in one of the best areas the PNW has to offer!

We have a really cool Outhouse for our guests to use with an Incinerating toilet 😱 which Requires a bowl liner for every use (yes even a number one) each and every time to ensure proper incineration.

This cool piece of tech leaves no trace and makes the proximity to the river possible! Please help us maintain it by following the instructions posted. Please Note the outhouse is shared with the Shabin 😊

Maria was so kind and very friendly. We were disappointed with the short walk described as it was very steep, and even had I brought my AWD vehicle, it would have been challenging to drive right up to the site. Also, we were anticipating that firewood would be provided as advertised but there was not true firewood. The first night we were able to use left over construction 2x4 and such but we went through that quickly and needed to add that expense to make it through the next day. I loved the nature but would have loved an easier way to get to the site with the items presented.

A beautiful campsite and serene river setting. Deep woods camping with simple thoughtful details. The road up to the outlook was not for the faint of heart. Some may not be comfortable with the incline and proper footwear should be advised as all of us fell, at least once. The bathroom was very nice but at the bottom of the steep hill and shared with the other guests in the shabin. This meant 10 people sharing one toilet. We enjoyed the river but had trouble making our way down the makeshift pallet staircase. I had to carry my 45lbs dog while dodging broken boards and exposed nails with kids in tow. Ultimately, we had a great time but at $80 a night I would have expected the accessibility to the river and toilet to have been a bit better for the price.

Thank you for your review! I will get those boards fixed ASAP! It's a temporary means of access as we figure out the best options that are the least environmentally impactful. Given our location on the Wallace upriver from the hatchery we are limited in our options so as to not negatively impact the hatchery and the fish pathways. We have gone to great lengths to make our property blend in with the natural beauty surrounding the Wallace which is why we did minimal leveling or excavation instead opting to work with the natural slopes and inclines and little tucked away areas like the outhouse and overlook spaces. I had not thought to advise of hiking footwear for the walk down the hillside to the river, but it makes sense! I will add that to the listing details along with river shoes or water shoes. Come see us again in a few weeks, we continue to make improvements to both our sites because this is more than just an income property for us, it's our family dream come true!

Maria was very responsive and helpful. The site was nicer than we anticipated: level ground, nice wood chips, beautiful canopy of trees providing shade from the hot sun. There was a helpful long table to cook meals, comfy camp chairs, and a great covered fire pit to roast from. The walk to Wallace river was steep but worth the effort, the water was cool, clear, and calm enough the splash around in. Our only hesitation for returning would be the night trains, we were woken up a few times due to cargo trains and had a hard time falling back to sleep. Other than the trains, we had a great stay and would recommend for a quick getaway.

Thank you for your review! I totally understand about the trains, it took me some getting used to as well.
