Private camp on 18 acres, ideal for groups or couples. There is only one main camp with a fire pit, private drive, pit toilet and cabin. Since there is only one group at a time no matter what size and guests pay per person {mainly for larger groups camping in the summertime} New this year is a tiny cabin I call the Rain House that can be used as a shelter for groups and converted into a full sized bunk. The camp is up a steep 200ft dirt driveway so 4x4 or all wheel drive could be helpful especially if it is rainy. There is parking down below if necessary.

The camp is above several organic farms that have farm stands, the town and stores are close by. Last year saw families with young children, a wedding party and a Birthday celebration.  Other than my own cabin through the woods up a different driveway it's totally private. The star gazing can be amazing and the birds and wildlife plentiful.  As fall approaches it would be great to see couples and small groups make use of the new heated building (propane with a CO2 censor that shuts it off  automatically) and coming very soon will be hot water showers and other improvements for a year round getaway!

Such a gorgeous spot! The fire pit is awesome and the propane heater keeps the cabin super duper warm at night!

Very private location with tons of room to spread out. Dogs had a great time exploring the area as did we. Lots of rain, but luckily two structures on-site helped keep us and all of our stuff pretty dry. Brian was a great host, always easily available via text as needed!

We enjoyed our stay here. Just far out enough for our kiddos to experience the outdoors. Camp site was as described and the drive to the location was epic. Beautiful spot and secluded. Good jump off point to explore the surrounding area. Last bit, was a great place to brings dogs as well and let them explore in safety.

This camp out was perfect for our stay. There were plenty of spots for our tents (lots of options) a 5gallon can of potable water was made available, and Brian was kind enough to supply several folding chairs and an AC inverter to charge devices.
The location is close to Lalene lake for fishing/paddle boarding, and the small town of Quilcene has good diner options for breakfast and coffee.
Brian was a great host, he was very accommodating and you can tell he cares about the experience for the campers.
Be sure to bring bug spray when you stay, as the little critters like flying termites, and mosquitos do come out, however it was not overwhelming by any means.
The other thing that stands out with this property is the cellphone service, all four of us campers had great reception for streaming music and checking out local spots on the map.

Thanks again, we will plan to come back. -hopefully without a fire ban! 😄

Part of the campground where a shelter is pictured as well as the fire pit (there was a burn ban while we camped out) This old truck has some personality. It made for some fun-rustic yard artLalene lake is an 8 minute drive and has a pretty view. Good for fishing and paddling. Quiet and calm.We found this super rare banded alder borer beetle

Brian has created and meticulously maintains this site. The tiny cabin is well-marked with directions for how to convert between the table and the bed platform. The pit toilet is clean and in great condition. He's built much of it from reclaimed or recycled materials, like the skis supporting the tarp over the picnic shelter and the windows in the cabin.

Brian is also a meticulous host, with clear, helpful communication before and during our stay through Hipcamp. He offered driving hints to avoid road construction, suggested places to visit, and was quick to top off our water when we were running low.

A couple of notes for future visitors.... The electricity on site comes from an inverter attached to a lawn equipment battery. That was plenty for keeping our phones charged, but it's not enough to run bright lights or recharge a car. The other is that the potable water comes from 5-gallon containers provided by the host. Like I said, Brian was quick to keep us stocked up, but just don't expect freely running water to do your dishes.

I can't recommend this site and its host enough. If we want to venture into Olympic NP, we'll be back for sure.

Entrance to the privyClean, solid pit toilet. The host provides TP, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes, too.Fire pit and picnic shelter. The canvas chairs are all provided with the site. The counter at the edge of the picnic shelter is great for preparing and serving food.A shaded glen that's good for a tent or for reading

Rutabaga ridge definitely offered privacy, lots of room for dogs and kids to run around. Early morning treat was watching a doe and her twin fawns forage just below the ridge. The little wooden structure was excellent for playing board games and cards and having your meals. It should be noted that there is not running water here however a 6 gallon container of potable water was made available. There was a pit toilet available and the location was great very remote feeling but close to amenities like the awesome Quilcene Village store.
