Welcome to Waterfall Camp where you'll enjoy a breathtaking and unique view of the "sunset Waterfall" located on the South Fork Skykomish River in Index WA , in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2.

A medium-sized and private setup, with shared access to the river water and breathtaking mountain views, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush for a day or 2.

The campsite is easily accessible but an SUV or AWD vehicle is recommended under snow conditions, the camp has a couple of trees to navigate around to access the best spots.

Multiple firepits, 4 wood chairs, toilets, and 2 picnic tables are available.

There is no running water or electricity. Be sure to bring your tent, firewood, and plenty of water.

You might spot some wildlife including eagles, deers and salmon during the Fall. Don't forget your camera, binoculars and camping chairs to take in the awesome views. Local places to hike include Wallace Falls, Sunset Falls, Lake Serene, Bridal Veil Falls trail ( literally 5 minutes away from us), or maybe you like rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking or fishing. All are available if you drive to Index; located just minutes away.

Located at the very end of a private community area (you will need the code) , this place offers a very peaceful setting, including the rushing and relaxing sound of the waterfall and the occasional whistle of a train.. . Approximately 55 miles east of Seattle and 25 miles west of Steven's Pass.

We welcome, tents and campervans, small to medium groups of campers.

After staying at this site in May we immediately booked another long weekend.
Our second visit was just as great as the first! All the fall leaves were beautiful. Took a midnight walk down to the water to get a perfect view of the stars. Even saw a bit of a meteor shower. Rotating grates over the fire pits were a great addition and made cooking so easy.
A few of the neighbors walking by were curious but everyone was incredibly friendly.
Definitely a cold breeze coming off the falls and even though we got lucky with no rain, everything was just slightly damp.
This is definitely our go-to spot for long weekend getaways!

It definitely earns its name with the view of the Waterfall across the river! There is also a path that appears like it could get you over there, but it was a bit too muddy for us to want to take it.

One thing to be aware of is that the campsite is within a gated neighborhood. So you'll pass land with cabins, RVs, and other structures as you make your way to the campsite. Once at the campsite, it was very quiet for us. There are a couple structures nearby so if people are there, I imagine it could be noisy. But not any more noisy than a campground.

The campsite itself was nice. From what we could tell there were 4-5 spaces for tents with 3 of those being appropriate for a small camper. They aren't super level and tent pads could be useful, but they worked just fine. There are a couple near the fence that no one wanted to set up because 1 seemed "mushy" and the other was "pretty slanted." But again, they would do fine if the group were larger than ours.

Communication with Benoit was stellar! They updated us when needed and we got quick answers when we had questions.

I would recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Great site, very clean bathroom. Note that the beach isn’t directly accessible from the site but is a short 5 min walk so no big deal. The site has lots of chairs and two picnic tables, and room enough for at least 4 large tents. Great views—loved watching the waterfall and fish jumping!

Location was absolutely perfect! Sleeping to the sound of the waterfall was nice but if you don’t like the sound of train passing by every so often might want to find another spot. We didn’t mind it at all. There was a nice trail to walk down to the beach which we let our dogs roam and swim freely! Also having a bathroom on site was a plus! Our host provided all the necessary information to guide us to our camp spot as well as being quick to respond whenever we had any questions! Would love to come back again!

This was without a doubt the best camping trip we've had in years, all due to the space. Benoit's place is everything that was promised and more.
The waterfall is simply breathtaking. We found ourselves often just stopping whatever we were doing in the campsite just to stand and watch the water dance down the rocks from across the river. This is right at a large bend in the river where there is a large pool at the bottom of the falls, before the river continues on down its path.
Benoit's property is spacious, clean, tastefully laid out, and pleasantly private. It's the last property at the end of a long private road, so we had barely any traffic - either vehicle or foot - going past. There was plenty of room for parking and turning around, and for wheeling in our utility trailer, though we had to roll it by hand the last several meters. The kids and dogs had plenty of room to run around together, but also to find their own spaces to relax.
All other reviewers raved about the nice clean port-a-potty, and I thought, "How impressive can a toilet really be?" But they were right - seeing and smelling how clean this one was, I couldn't help but see what a great perk it really is.
We took several walks down to the river to explore. It's a couple hundred meters down an abandoned gravel road, then a short climb down a few meters slope to the riverbed. At the time we were there, there was enough sandy bank to set up some chairs and relax.

What a beautiful campsite! We are already planning our next trip. Such an amazing view with the subtle sound of the waterfall in the background. The site was very well maintained and had plenty of set up options. A short little walk to a beautiful sandy beach was so fun for our kids and our pup. Where it is located, there was hardly any other noise from people in the area. We felt like we were at our own private site. Benoit was so responsive and a pleasure to work with.

This is an amazing spot! The view is nothing less than spectacular. The site is very well laid out. Many nice “amenities” like Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, gorgeous flat “stumps for side tables, the outhouse is clean (even stylish!) and has hand sanitizer, etc. there are several good places to pitch tents. A short walk down a dirt road will get you down to the river, where there is a fabulous spot with a sandy beach area and ability to swim! (At least in early August)
Benoit is a friendly responsive host. We loved our time there!

If you read any of the previous reviews, this review won't differ too much: The Waterfall Camp is an amazing private campsite that underpromised and overdelivered.

Namely because of the the frictionless location + the privacy of the community and campsite + thoughtful camp layout + details and amenities all make this an instant favorite site for my four-person family (and dog!). Especially with how much larger the property is once you arrive and take notice.

The owner, Benoit, was super responsive and attentive which made everything that much easier. And the views of the forest, river, waterfall and mountains can only be appreciated in person, pics don't do the scene you are placed in justice. The experience of coming here is the only thing that can!
