Only a mile away, you’ll find creamy milkshakes at 3 Rivers General Store & Cafe, they also sell locally caught smoked salmon! Yum! Safe spot near la push
Nice little camping spot outside of town near La Push. Rainy few days but host worked with us to make sure we would not get stuck in any mud. Portable toilet was clean and fine. Would stay again.
This was a good spot. We stayed in campsite 6 which is the furthest back. It felt private because the other walk-in sites were not occupied. It was a sweet little spot in a clump of trees between an old cleared wood lot and a meadow. Lots of birdsong. You can see some old stumps from cutting and some buildings as you walk in and out, but it was cozy at the campsite. Great location to visit Rialto Beach, and the smoked salmon at the store in La Push was delicious!
First family camp trip a success
This was our first time camping as a family. Our son loved it. Unfortunately the burn ban kept us from making a fire pit, but our son ate some of the marshmallows as is. He's that kind of a guy. Anyhow, if you're looking for an affordable, out of the way place to pitch a tent, I'd recommend Homestead Camp Forks.
We never met the hosts, however their land needed no introduction or explanation. The sites are clearly marked and well kept. We booked site 5, and were happy with how removed it was from the busy-ness of sites 1-3/the parking area. It is a bit of a walk, which seemed to turn off the group that was supposed to be at site 6 the night we were there, however we were fine with the trek. The land is very close to beaches that made for the ideal sunset adventure, and the sunrise at the campsite was breathtaking. We would definitely return and use this campsite as a base to thoroughly explore the NW Olympic area.
