Quiet space out on Whidbey. We loved walking to the beach with our dog Sheena and cozying up at camp with greenery all around us. This cabin is super accessible to the ferry and other Whidbey Island amenities. Would recommend!
My wife and I needed a quiet place to be for a few days and the Little Jewel Box fit the need. Everything was exactly as advertised and we had a very nice stay. We had the beach to ourselves and was able to read for pleasure for a change.
Staying at the “Little Jewl” was a unique experience. It is Like camping out in the woods, but you still have electricity and a wonderful outdoor hot shower. The nights were peaceful. The bathroom facility was good!
Bruce was very helpful. Our little dog enjoyed the garden!
It's basically a shack in someone's backyard. Nothing wrong with it if that's what you like. We were expecting more seclusion and the pictures don't really show how close the shack is from the house.
The outdoor shower was great but again it was next to the art studio so it didn't feel totally private.
We were mostly traveling around so it wasn't a problem.
A walk in the woods to the beach
The place is beautiful. The cabin is cute and the bathroom is clean and well crafted. The shower is outside around the corner of the house but looks to be private though you have about a 30 ft walk.
Peaceful glamping experience!
Wow this place was so sweet! The perfect. getaway for me and my dog. The fanciest compost toilet I've ever been in! We sleep with a sound machine every night at home so the waterfall was a wonderful perk. We were a short drive from anything we needed - coffee, restaurants, grocery, Double Bluff off-leash dog park, and only 20 min from South Whidbey State Park! Everything is thoughtfuy laid out and explained with little laminated cards. It felt very private. Wish I had stayed longer! Would definitely reccomend for a glamping getaway, and I would love to come again!
The bugs were unbearable. They start in the early afternoon and don't really stop. Used bug repellant, citronella tiki torches and candles, nothing really helped. Bugs weren't too bad in the mornings. The shower was nice. Stays warm for a long time. The composting toilet was cool but there's a couple of issues. The huge wolf spider that lives around the toilet was anxiety inducing. Sitting on the toilet for my husband was an issue for hygienic reasons because there is a raised wall which diverts urine. A few things to know, the coffee carafe was cracked, didn't feel safe using it. No pot to boil water in. We saw a few people in a sitting area by the main house. I never met a host though. I did have some questions if the host was available. The best part for us was spending the day at deer lake swimming. Best lake swimming I've experienced in a long time.
