Birdsong Camp: Near Shenandoah NP
This is a gorgeous and well-maintained campsite. The photos don't do it justice. Plenty of space, flat and dry spot for your tent, sink and 2-burner to cook if needed, a bathroom, even a shower. Great firepit, horseshoe game. It's just a 15-min drive from the Whiteoak Canyon trailhead. We hadn't been, def worth it. Kids can get to the lower falls. Jennifer's a kind and available host. She runs a nice farm, and kiddos will enjoy petting goats, checking out pigs, chickens, a bunny, couple dogs and a donkey roaming around. We hope to return.

Fiddlehead Camp near SNP
The great escape!
Can’t say enough good things about this place. The campgrounds are large and completely private. All stocked with the primitive amenities to make your off grid camping experience a great one. The trails are beautiful and well marked. Hosts are super friendly and accommodating. We stayed at Fiddle Head by the creek and it was beautiful. Highly recommend the gear transfer they provide as it is a bit of a walk with heavier items like a cooler. No cell service, no sounds other than the breeze in the trees, no hustle and bustle of every day life. This place is indeed the great escape. Highly, highly recommend!

Sparrow Hammock Camp
Highly Recommend!!
Beautiful spot that is relatively secluded and private. It is worth noting that you should be prepared to walk/hike a little to get to the site; I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of the transport service that is offered to help load and unload your stuff. I sincerely believe this saved a few years of my life.
Jennifer is a fantastic host and is more than helpful and knowledgeable of the area. When you first arrive, Jennifer makes sure to meet with you to go over the map of the property and other spots near by. In addition to her great hospitality, they also run a farm store that is packed full of fresh eggs and other meats. We ended up buying 2 dozen eggs which included chicken, duck, and turkey (yes..turkey) eggs that were delicious.
I highly recommend considering staying with Jennifer for your next outing. Phenomenal service and hospitality and a beautiful spot to enjoy the outdoors!

Gypsy Camp Near SNP
Great Campsite for a group
Gypsy Camp is a great campsite. It has three tent pads, a fire pit ringed by large rocks, a cooking grate, picnic table, and a well designed washing station with nonpotable water, sponge and soap provided. There is space for 3 cars to park and a well designed outhouse with a bio-bag toilet. The area was very tidy. One very large and friendly farm dog greated us as we were setting up camp. He enjoyed some belly rubs and then ran along his merry way. Jennifer has placed solar lights along the path from the tents to the toilet area. We purchased one bundle of firewood which was enough for one evening of cooking and hanging out. The next day we gathered wood from around the campsite and used the last few pieces from the purchased bundle. We didn't make it to the farm store. We spent the day out hiking the Whiteoak Falls Trail, which was lovely. On our second night there was a group in clear hearing distance that stayed up late listening to music and talking loudly. I assumed these were other campers at another of the sites, and felt a bit annoyed because quiet hours are posted as beginning at 10 and their revelry continued much past that time. On our last morning the very large and friendly farm dog was doing his morning rounds singing the song of his people. He came to get a morning pat from us and then spent some time barking out into the world announcing the he was on duty, I suppose. It's a good thing we like dogs, lol. If that isn't your thing he may disturb your peace.
