NOTE #1: There is some confusion about head count for reservations for the tiny Rose Cottage. The weekend price of $84 ($71.40 Sun thru Thurs) per night is for 1-2 adults. If you have more than 2 folks in your party, you must click the number in the guests over 2 people in the box under the check in dates. There is a charge of $5 per head per night over 2 folks. So if you have 10 folks in your party, the first two fall within the basic reservation charge for the night...you would then click 8 additional people and the proper charges will be applied to the reservation. It is NOT $84 a night for unlimited number of folks in the party. Thanks in advance for making sure your reservation is correct.

NOTE #2: Check in time is 3 pm until Dark. If you think you will arrive just after dark or something else occurs, please contact us so we can work things out on arrival time. When I receive your reservation, I will send a separate email to you.

Most folks comment...the photos don't do it justice! We agree!

I made many changes to the Tiny Rose Cottage over the winter of 2021. I  added a covered deck offering 6'x13' covered outdoor space which includes an outdoor kitchen space and a covered lounging area.

On the inside of the cottage, I removed the tiny bathroom to expand the living space to accommodate 4 persons (2 double beds). The kitchen has moved within the structure and has everything it had last year with the addition of a small refrigerator, and several other tiny appliances such as an air popcorn popper and a mini food chopper.  :)

We had several groups stay at the cottage last year with some sleeping inside and others pitching tents or sleeping hammocks. I built a larger bathhouse to accommodate more than just those staying in the cottage. It has a 3ft x 3ft shower, the portable toilet and the addition of a vanity - best little outhouse in the woods - we promise! There is hot water and electricity in the bathhouse.

The price per night includes sufficient wood for your campfires during your stay. My yummy baked goods and farm fresh eggs went over well last year and I will offer the same items this year with the addition my ooey gooey homemade cinnamon rolls.

In Oct of 2020, I installed a tiny house heater to the tiny cottage which comfortably heats up to 150 sq ft. keeping it cozy in the cottage thru the chilly nights.

Rose Cottage is GLAMPING at it's finest (it even has a ceiling fan which will keep you quite comfortable in the summer months). Available April thru November. It is tucked in the woods about 100 yards in the woods behind our home, facing the National Forest - no neighbors!

A new bathhouse is furnished with a full shower,  a nice vanity and portable toilet.  The cottage floors are of the finest pergo flooring and the interior is pine shiplap - you can't beat the fragrance of the wood when you step inside - just like being in a pine forest! There is space outside for others to pitch tent(s) or hang sleeping hammocks from nearby trees. A 6x13 covered deck will allow you to take in the serenity of the national forest. A campfire ring is available with firewood supplied. We also have a small propane grill for your outdoor use and an outdoor cleaning table with a sink for washing dishes. New this year is also a large outdoor table with benches for accommodating larger groups.

We have a nice walking trail through our property to the small pond we built. We have stocked the pond with bluegills. The summers have been hard on the pond lately, the pond nearly dried up, and we lost a lot of our fish. We ask that you only catch and release at this time. Fishing in our pond is excellent for the first time fisherman to have a successful experience! Lake Laura is about 4 miles away and much tougher fishing for the experienced fisherman. There is the Shenandoah River or several local streams stocked with trout (in the fall and the winter - they don't stock in the hot summer months).

Activities nearby include stepping off our property into the George Washington National Forest to hike along the many trails or head over to Bryce Four Season Resort (only 4 miles away) for a full day of golfing, grass skiing, mountain biking, zip lines, snow skiing, snow boarding, tubing and many other activities .  In addition, Lake Laura is also just 5 miles away for fishing, boating, hiking, beach and swimming. There is also a nice lazy hiking trail around the entire lake. The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is just 5 miles away and offers a variety of outdoor concerts during the summer - view their 2021 summer season at musicfest.org.

Your stay at Rendezvous Farm, a 16-acre working hobby farm bordering George Washington National Forest on 2 sides, offers you over 1 million acres of public land to play in.

Rendezvous Farm is also within an hour of several caverns, several civil war battlefields, the Shenandoah Civil War Museum, The Edinburg Mill Museum and the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River. The Appalachian Trail is a half hour drive from the farm. This area has much more to offer. Feel free to inquire about what interests you.

Come relax and enjoy!

Perfect tiny cottage for two! Peggy and Allen were so welcoming and offered great information on hiking. We loved seeing the horses, cows, chickens, rabbits, and the pig (who we nicknamed Oscar). It was a great little home away from home!

We loved our time at rendezvous farm. The tiny cottage was cozy and a warm, private shower in the woods was pretty magical. The setting is beautiful and private. Our kids loved the farm animals and Peggy and Allen were so generous with their time - the farm tour was a huge highlight.

I had a wonderful retreat for a few days staying in the Tiny Rose Cottage. Peggy and her husband were fantastic and made sure I had everything I needed, while also providing me with plenty of space. The cottage itself was very cozy and had everything I could have needed for a camping trip. The covered porch out front was perfect for hanging out, rain or shine. Bryce Resort, only a short drive away, also allowed me to get some golfing in while I was away. I would definitely recommend.

The tiny house was an adorable family stay. Perfect setup for a family of four. Heck, we even brought another adult along. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and layout. We only wish it was better weather! It happened to flurry in April! We’ll be back when it’s a bit warmer out and can fully enjoy the nice camping area near the tiny house too. Daddy wants to sleep in a tent. lol. Everyone in our party enjoyed meeting the animals too. The two horses may have been the highlight of the trip! The kids talked about them a lot. Also would highly recommend the blueberry muffins!

Tiny Rose Cottage is a delightful gem nestled in the Shenandoah Valley near the George Washington National Forest. Peggy and Allen are warm and attentive hosts who made sure we had everything we needed to feel comfy and safe. The tiny house is situated so that there is plenty of privacy. During the days we enjoyed hiking on nearby trails and evenings around the fire. We will definitely be back. Cell service for me was spotty so make sure to download and books, movies, etc before arriving. AllTrails is helpful but again download before arriving. We walked the trails on the property and nearby Orkney Springs Trail. Blueberry muffins and kettle corn simply delicious. Very pup friendly. Highly recommend!

Peggy and Allen were wonderful hosts. They helped to ensure we made it safely to the cabin as we arrived after dark. The cabin was clean and well cared for. Perfect for glamping, but remaining minimalistic with the amount of resources. Campfire was just out front. Chairs provided. We enjoyed painting rocks, and taking walks around the property. 100% would recommend.

Found our happy place in the woods

I’ve been drawn to Shenandoah Mountains for a while, but I just couldn’t find a place where I could be really immersed in nature. All the campgrounds we went to were too far from the mountains, commercial, cramped and noisy and left me longing for that piece and solitude that can only be found in the wild.

I hadn’t done too much research before coming to The Tiny Rose Cottage at the Randevouz Farm. All I wanted was a private cabin close to the mountains that was clean and safe for my 3 year old and had a shower (a must for the always running and getting muddy and sweaty duo).

What we found was so much more!

The farm and campground sit on a huge property at the end of the long rocky driveway. The first thing we saw was a neat 4 site campground adjacent to the tiny pond and horse stables. A short drive past the chicken coops led us to Peggy and Allen’s driveway. Peggy greeted us with the delicious goodies she makes for the campers (available for pre-order) and helped us to haul our gear to the cottage about 100ft into the woods.

The cottage is built on top of an old camper and had everything we needed (comfy beds, chairs, table, fridge, microwave, tea kettle, dishes, cups, silverware), plus many unexpected luxuries (a coffee maker, a fireplace like electric heater, and even a popcorn air popper). The cottage is designed in a way that maximizes the living space. My daughter loved to play on the top bunk bed and we had the best sleep on the comfortable organic cotton mattress, listening to the sounds of wind and dry leaves falling on the roof and the ground. The small wooden table was perfect for reading and coloring inside.

The outside patio is well stocked with brightly painted wooden table, bench, a propane stove and a shelf holding painting supplies and extra rocks (a ‘must do’ while you are there). Steps away from the patio is a fire pit with beach chairs and extra wood.

The bathroom is newly remodeled and consists of a bio toilet and a shower cabin with hot water. I loved the smell of wood inside!

There is a trail leading from the cottage to the pond, very pretty and well marked. It was great to just walk out into the woods. It was actually the best part - to be completely surrounded by nature (not even wifi or phone reception, unless you have Verizon).

In the morning Peggy took us on a farm tour to see the rabbits, horses and chickens. It was great to learn about the working of the farm.

Apart from the camp, the area has a lot to offer. Lake Laura has a nice walking trail, Bryce resort is just a few miles away, plus all the trails in the George Washington National Forest, numerous caverns; Luray and Shenandoah Park are just 45 min drive. The view of the mountains with the foliage colors was simply breathtaking!

All in all, we felt welcome and unrushed and left completely refreshed and rewilded. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer. My 3 year old said she wanted to live there, so I guess we are coming back next year!
