Too close to the railway line and highway. An average camping place.

Great site with a couple of options to choose for your set up. We had the place to ourselves and it felt very private whilst still being nice and open. We practiced our astrophotography with a great starry night. Portaloo was great once I encouraged the spiders to vacate, haha.
As others say, the train and road noise can be loud but we camp with earplugs and after six nights on the road I think I actually had my best night sleep despite road noise.

Good location. Did everything it said in the ad. Loved the space and fire pits (and wood). Loved the night sky. Loved the winery next door. Loved proximity to Grampians. Road and trainline weren't a problem for us, our kid loved them actually. Weird construction site storage area in the middle of the land but again, kid loved this. Portaloos could have been cleaner and water provided for flushing.

We really enjoyed our two nights at Yabbie Dam Estate!

We just happened to run into Scott when we arrived and he was very friendly and welcoming. He let us know a big group was coming so suggested we take a site at the opposite end to where they were. It was good advice.

There's two toilets, both were clean, stocked, and far enough away from the sites for privacy. They are a port-a-loo style and could be flushed.

Our site was well stocked with firewood and had a good size fire pit.

This site is bordered on one side by the highway, so you can hear traffic all the time. That said, we barely even noticed it after the first hour or so. The opposite border has a railway line that runs along it. There's only around three to four trains a day so it was no issue.

The towns of Great Western and Ararat are mere minutes away so if you forget anything or need to top up supplies, it's a quick trip.

If I had to make any suggestions, I would say that it would be handy if the sites were marked out. Had we not run into Scott when we arrived we would not have been sure where one site ended and the next started.

We plan to return one day, and will check out the winery next door when we do.

A panoramic view looking to the south. The sites run right to left in between the two tree lines. The blue box on the right is a toilet. The other toilet is next to the small building on the left side of the picture. The view to the west. The stack to the left is one of the piles of firewood available to campers. The view looking south. Camp sites are between the two tree lines.

Had a lovely night at the Yabby Dam Estate. The animals were indeed friendly and sociable. Scott has obviously gone to a lot of effort to set up toilets and facilities. Much appreciate!
Beautiful night under the stars with great spaces to set up with a fair few friends and get the fire pit going. Few chair floating around. Would recommend a sleeping mat on the thicker side to counter the dry grass.
Very reasonably priced. Will definitely come back if we're in the area again!

Lots of space which was great for the dog. The sites are very spread out. There was another group and we didn't even notice them. Toilets were well serviced and there's lots of firewood with lovely fire pits. The only downside is that it is pretty close to the road and there is quite a bit of traffic noise. The winery next door was excellent which was a nice little compromise.

Well-appointed and comfortable for big or small groups. Lots of open space but the sites are close to the tree line which provides shade.
