Great king valley base camp
We had a great week camping at Hayfield. The property is near a small town with general store and pub and easy access to King river swimming spots and attractions. Small number of well spaced campsites with shared toilet facilities. Hosts made us feel welcome and came by to maintain the sites, check in and provide recommendations a couple of times a day otherwise the place was ours. Perfect alternative to rugged bush camping or crowded public camping. Would definitely return if we can.
Gorgeous and peaceful!
Picture perfect, grassy green meadows on a private gated land, it is your own exclusive campground worth every dollar, I would even pay more for the hospitality and maintenance that the hosts provided, clean toilet and never-ending supply of wood. My kids got to hold baby goats and feed the cattle, what a great experience! We smugly drove through the herds of campers at Edi Cutting Campground knowing that we were going back to our own private oasis. Next day took a drive to Brown Brothers winery only 20 minutes away, so close! Will definitely come back and highly recommend!
Gorgeous and peaceful stay.
Gorgeous and peaceful. Lisa and Darren are excellent hosts and the property is great. Incredible stars. It’s our second time there and we’d definitely go back - it’s particularly great compared to the packed campgrounds only 5 min away in Edi! Plenty to do in the area and we had a wonderful weekend.
Despite patchy weather, we had a wonderful stay at Ellimatta. We were 4 families with 12 kids between us and there was heaps for them to do from making a fire, to riding to the river for a swim, to patting the horses to kicking the footy. Heaps of campground space. Two toilets a big bonus.
