Hidden gem on hipcamp
Such a wonderful gem on Hipcamp. This A Frame is like something out of a story book, situated in the middle of literally dozens of amazing hikes between Vermont and New Hampshire. Had a very special time with my girlfriend and dog and would not hesitate to stay here again.
We had such a cozy stay at the SiloSide! The cottage is very comfortable and has lovely windows. I love waking up right next to the forest. The campfire is very nice. We used the stove provided and got water from the spout. We had a great stay.
A+ a frame stay!
Very fun and rustic cabin to have a unique camp experience! Gretchen was very hospitable and gave us helpful tips to make our stay comfortable and places to explore around us as well. Great to communicate with and welcoming! Thank you Gretchen!
The SiloSide A frame was wonderful! It was a hard to find based on the directions provided but when we eventually found it, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin is full of thoughtful touches and it was nice to get out of the city and stay in nature for a bit.
Beautiful, magical land
Gretchen’s property is magnificent: peaceful, verdant, beautiful. The stars are so bright at night. The wildflowers in the breezes took my breath away. The little cabin was simple but wonderful. The eggs from the sweet chickens were gorgeous and delicious. And Gretchen’s kindness but also her respect of our privacy were so appreciated. What a special place. You feel deep love and care for the land right away.
This A Frame was soooo sweet. Two friends and I stayed here while we were completing the VTXL bikepacking route. It is all set up with old props on the inside to really complete the rustic farm feeling. Gretchen was super amazing and kind. Drinking coffee next to the fire pit in the morning was exactly what I needed. It definitely is just one step up from camping. The bed doesn't come with blankets (even though they're in the photos) but we had our sleeping bags so it wasn't an issue. There is an electric hot plate we cooked on although there was no oil to saute the veggies we got in our garden basket. All and all an amazing experience!
Staying here totally surpassed our expectations!! We arrived in a storm and were so surprised at how big and cozy the cabin is! There's electricity which meant we could cook on a stove inside during the storm, and play Uno all night. Gretchen is SO nice and we got to try her farm basket and homemade jam. We woke up to a bunch of chickens and the beautiful little orchard and farm :) I want to go again so badly, and couldn't recommend it more!
