Each cabin has hot and cold gravity-fed running water, a gas stove for cooking, gas lights and even a solar-powered refrigerator.

Canoes and kayaks provided at Tiny Pond, no outside boats allowed.

Cozy cabin, amazing property
Cabin was cozy, and rustic. We had a great time exploring trails on the property, and paddling on the lake. Very quiet and relaxing, just what we were after. Sarah and Richard were great hosts, very helpful and kind.
Perfect labor day weekend retreat
Had such a great time at Cold Spring with my partner this weekend! The drive down from Burlington was lovely and it was great to explore a part of Vermont we'd never been to before. The cabin was so well equipped and cozy, thanks also to the fall weather we were fortunate enough to have. We hiked, made fires, hung out on the porch, and visited a local brewery down the road in Proctorsville. Would love to bring friends next time and share this very special place with them!
Sweet little cabin tucked on a huge piece of family-owned land. We had a great time! The hot water outdoor shower was a godsend at the end of each day, and the sleeping porch was heaven. We cooked dinner every night on the large stone fire hearth. One bonus amenity that I didn't know about before arriving is that there is a propane fridge, it saved us an ice trip on our cooler.
The property is beautiful for walking and we loved swimming in the pond - appreciate all they are doing at Echo Farm to take care of the land, and especially the kind caretakers. Couldn't recommend Cold Spring Cabin enough and would love to return!
Loved my time at the Cold Spring Cabin! The host Sarah was so helpful and kind and the cabin was the ideal getaway for some peace and quiet. Lots of places on the property to walk/swim with my two dogs and tons of stuff to do close by. The cabin itself was basic but cozy and has everything you could need (including a very comfy bed!) I only wish I had been able to stay longer! Will definitely be back :)
It was a dream to stay here & we will be back! We booked the cabin for a week and it was perfect. The outdoor shower was hands down our favorite part of the cabin (that and the view from the covered porch... and the fire place!). The kitchen is well stocked with every kind of tool you need to cook. The gas stove/oven, fridge, lights make this place feel super comfy- be not afraid people who are intimidated by the no electricity piece. The deco is out of a movie- everything is dreamy and the photos on here do not do it justice. We loved walking down to the lake where we paddled around. The proximity to other hikes, swims, and the cute town of Ludlow make the location perfect in case you get cabin fever. The caretaker Sarah was so nice and helpful. A+, two thumbs up, can't wait to come back.
My family of 4 (husband, 2 teen kids, pup and I) stayed at Cold Spring cabin and had a great time despite arriving on a cold, wet wknd. Everyone we met at the farm was super helpful and friendly. The cabin itself is lovely and homey and we loved spending time by the fire. When weather did permit we did some kayaking on the beautiful Tiny Pond (abt a 20 min walk from the cabin) and took a couple of short hikes, most notably to Buttermilk Falls. There's a nice little town with restaurants, shops and pubs within 20 min drive. Overall a very relaxing stay, would highly recommend.
We'll be back!
We loved our stay at Forest Echo Farm. The land is beautiful; the hosts friendly, helpful, and responsive; and we had a really great time. Canoeing on Tiny Pond, swimming and catching frogs in farm pond, hiking, and stargazing were some highlights. The kitchen is well stocked with dry goods and cooking/eating supplies. The cabin had just the right balance of rustic "camping" mixed with creature comforts for our family if 4 traveling with two young children. We'd definitely come back.
Exactly what i needed!
This was the perfect getaway cabin I have ever visited. It is private and had all you need for a real cabin feel experience. The oil lamps and vintage bath brings a very unique unique touch to the cabin. I recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to disconnect for a couple of days.
We drove up from Western Connecticut on a Friday afternoon and had to make an unexpected stop for a leaky tire which delayed our arrival but the caretakers were very accommodating. Directions were very clear but service is spotty in that area so I would print out the directions or screen shot them so you don't have to rely on internet coverage. The cabin is truly "off the grid" and it was amazing to unplug. We didn't get any service so there wasn't any temptation. There is no electricity at the cabin so plan accordingly. The cabin itself is very rustic with kerosene lanterns. We were hoping to sleep on the front porch but it was late Sept and the temps were too chilly. So we set up in the bedroom. Be aware, the bed is very simple, just a mattress on a wooden slat and bedframe so if you are used to a cushy mattress, bring a mattress pad. We were fine. Brought our own linen and comforter. Off the main bedroom is a cute bathroom with a tub that overlooks the property. Very secluded. I was able to take a wonderful bubble bath on the last night and it was heaven. The cabin has indoor plumbing and hot water which was nice but there is also a very well kept outhouse in the back which we also used. Although there is plenty of hiking and a small pond for swimming, we stayed mostly inside and made fires in the wood stove which kept the place nice and warm. There are lots of puzzles which kept us busy and even an old school hand-crank record player although there was only one record. Not sure if it would play regular vinyl but if you have some records at home, bring them for some music. We slept very well, there is no noise except for the occasional wildlife. No one bothered us, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed to cook all weekend (but you have to bring your own food). We also grilled out on the fire pit next to the cabin. They have a percolator and french press and even a manual coffee grinder. Our only complaint is that there were some mice making noise at night but my husband shooed them away. Overall, we had a lovely experience and would recommend this listing.
