ABOUT OUR CAMPGROUND and LOCATION: The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, (not anywhere near the Island in the Sky) visitors center is only 1.5 miles away. We are approximately 1.5 hours from Arches and approximately 2 hours from Island in the Sky.

YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN SITE UPON CHECK-IN with a beautiful wide open view of the Needles "hoodoo" rocks with the park only a stone's throw away. All guests must check in at the store. If you will be staying during the months of June, July, August, September and want more shade book the small group site where there are very old beautiful Juniper trees. If you would like a cozy, warm stay during the cooler months, check out the glamping tents on our property.

There is a bathhouse with warm showers and flush toilets.

ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5PM to keep your reservation.

WHAT TO EXPECT: This IS the Wild, Rustic, Dirty Desert, not for Everyone.  This is Camping & keep in mind this is a rugged camping experience not for the faint at heart. The desert is Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, the weather is Unpredictable and you May experience our Wild storms...Monsoon season runs from July-August which is amazing if you are into photography. Be sure to bring proper gear for the rain (if we get any).

You may hear coyotes, see spiders, experience the annoying desert gnats at certain times of the day during the hotter summer season. You will want to bring bug spray, but if you forgot we do sell it in our camp store. If you stay with us you will get the experience of desert camping, wild, raw and rugged. It is an amazing experience to be had, with beautiful views and the feeling of freedom that is hard to find in more civilized and populated locations.

The rocks nearby are kid friendly, great for climbing and taking amazing photos of our fantastic views and gorgeous sunsets.

BATHHOUSE :There is a Bathhouse with Showers and Flush Toilets. Showers are with a token and must be purchased during store hours. The bathhouse is shared with other campers and gets dirty. We are surrounded by red dirt. Toilets get clogged, it sometimes happens in public bathrooms. It is cleaned everyday. The bathhouse is under renovation but still fully operational. ABOUT THE AREA :There are several hiking trails in the area as well as bicycling & 4 wheel drive trails on BLM (public land).

CONTACTING US: Hipcamp messages, email, and texts are the best way to reach us.  We are off the grid with poor cell phone reception. The WRITTEN DIRECTIONS are necessary, you can print them or take a screen shot, and will be at the bottom of your confirmation screen from hipcamp directly.

Needles is a remote section of Canyonlands. I believe it's very convenient to have the choice for another campground if needed.
Amber was very diligent, and friendly from day 1.
The campground also offers showers, that the Park don't. Maybe there are not the best showers on Earth, but I can't imagine the difficulties these people might face to run a busy campground, bathrooms, showers, etc, in a remote place, with no running water.
If the bathrooms can be improved? Certainly, yes. How difficult it is? I don't know.
We had booked for 4 nights, but we left earlier because of rude fellow campers, and one of those, once in a lifetime availability inside the Park. Not the host's fault.
If I would stay there again? Yes. No doubts.

Beautiful location with super easy access to Canyonlands. The campsites are fantastic but are fairly close together. The owners are very friendly.

Hosts were available and at the ready to make the stay successful. They were so generous and friendly!

The site was well maintained and spaced far enough away from other campers.

Loved having a reservation to stay so close to the park too!

What an amazing place to stay at! I received a warm welcome from Amber. Picked my own campsite. It does pay off to arrive earlier in the day so I had some sites to choose from. The other lots filled up quickly around 4-5PM.

If I decide to return to hike The Needles, I will definitely come back!

The campsite is just outside Canyonlands and is very scenic itself. Amber and her husband were so kind and their outpost had some great stuff.

the sites are much closer together than it appears in the pictures. the only saving grace is the views, absolutely beautiful stargazing. the bathrooms were never stocked and broken.
