I loved the Desert Moon! It's a cute little space. I love the murals in the bath-houses. They have stringlights in all the little trees and its such a nice aesthetic. Everyone who worked there was really friendly. They also had lots of pet friends on the property. I made friends with a cute black cat. Someone else even had pet ravens!
There was a food truck on site so we were able to get dinner when I was too tired to fire up my camp stove. There's some cool stuff nearby in Sego canyon too, just up the road. There's ancient petroglyphs and the old abandoned ruins of an early 1900's mining town.
Tips: There's no a lot of shade so bring a canopy! The ground is hard so bring a mallet to stake your tent down!
Camp sites were cute and had everything you needed and the Dessert Spoon food truck makes delicious burgers. Not too far from some really cool petroglyphs so it makes for a perfect spot to go into Canyonlands and Arches national parks.
Very peaceful night on a long road trip. I was grateful for having such a nice place to stay.
Very cool, laid back place with good amenities. I think the weather was a little unusual when we went but be advised it can get windy. Our neighbors were nice and we loved meeting the desert cats!
Given the many positive reviews of this camp site, we were disappointed with our experience. While the site did have restrooms and showers, they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. The campsite was slanted, uneven, entirely dirt and provided no natural cover. When we returned to the site on our second night, the winds were up to 55mph and had been throughout the day. The inside of our tent was entirely filled with dirt, despite having a cover secured over it. Additionally, one of our tent poles snapped and another person’s tent next to us completely collapsed. While the owner cannot control the wind, he could have avoided flying past us on his 4 wheeler kicking up an insane amount of dirt, which was the only contact we had with him. Because the conditions were so bad with the wind and the dirt, we ended up having to leave that night to find another place to stay.
The site is nice for a one night stay. The town feels really abandoned and unwelcoming. The sites are nice and you can make a fire
