Jason and Erika Collins Collins own Collins Farm along with their three daughters: Hannah, Isabella, and Elliana.
Our family migrated to Florida in 2017, with our three daughters and horse trailer full of animals. Originally living in the Naples area for a couple years, we missed living the farm life and having our animals living right beside us. So we searched for somewhere that felt more like home.
Erika having a background in Public Health, traded in her high heels for muck boots and in June of 2020, Collins Farm was established in Micanopy. She integrates her knowledge of nutrition and disease into the farm, focusing on how each animal can help support the health of the farm.
We have since added many new additions to the farm and continue to learn and grow each day. On our 10 acre farm we currently breed Nigerian Dwarf goats, offer event space rental with petting farm, and photo opportunity sessions.
Collins Farm is conveniently located 20 minutes south of Gainesville and 30 minutes north of Ocala, off of interstate 75.
Learn more about this land:
Full RV hook up located right in the heart of our farm. You will see and hear goats, horses, Charlie the pig, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs, and most likely deer, sand cranes, and the occasional bald eagles, throughout your stay. You can enjoy the petting farm and fresh chicken eggs for breakfast straight from the coop for a small fee.Â
A pasture is right next to the RV hook up so if you need to bring your best horse friend, they can camp right alongside of you for an additional $15.00 a day. You just need to show proof of Coggins and vaccines before arrival. Sand riding arena available for use, at your own risk. Pets are welcome as well, as long as they stay on a leash the entire time and are cleaned up after.
A fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs and picnic table is set up right outside your door.
The historic town of Micanopy is just a few minute drive and offers antique shopping, restaurants, unique gift shops, and entertainment. Paynes Prarie Preserve State Park is just a couple minute drive away and offers hiking trails and wildlife sightseeing. There is also trails for horseback riding within two miles of Collins Farm.Â
