Loft at Terlingua Escondido

From your front porch at the Loft at Terlingua Escondido, enjoy sweeping views of the Chisos Mountains in nearby Big Bend National Park. Experience some of the darkest night skies in North America. Bring your binoculars or a telescope!

The Loft is one half of a duplex cabin, situated in the Chihuahuan Desert surrounded by four acres of low, scrubby, native desert vegetation. Terlingua Escondido, or "hidden Terlingua," lies just south of Terlingua Ghost Town, a short walk to restaurants, bars, galleries, and a coffee shop, but out of sight of the highway. The location and views are truly a hidden gem!

The back half of the cabin houses the laundry room and storage for the property. You may hear noises between 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Our housekeepers and managers will observe quiet hours between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. so you can enjoy the solitude and quiet of the surrounding desert!

Terlingua Escondido is a work in progress. The Loft and laundry room, along with rain catchment for watering native plants, are part of Phase I. Phase II plans include a couple of yurts and a shipping container cantina with an outdoor bar, gas grills, picnic tables, and a fire pit for guests. Phase III will add additional cottages and more native landscaping. Stay tuned to see what we have planned!
