Simply Wyldwood is a 10-acre homestead in Wyldwood Texas 20 miles east of Austin that includes woodland hiking trails and hosts My Yoga Barn which is an 800 square foot yoga/dance/martial arts movement space complete with yoga props. The Barn is surrounded by nature which includes a large 100-year-old Blackjack Oak on one side, a food forest with chickens on the other, and the Post Oak Savannah landscape throughout. You can enjoy the windows open or closed but the windows do not have shades to allow you to be as close to nature as possible without the bugs. You are secluded from any neighbors and away from the main house. The back of the barn and the private bathroom is near the back wall with no windows for more privacy. Bring your own bedding for floor sleeping or rent an air mattress from us. The full bath inside has a tub for soaking or you can enjoy the outdoor hot/cold shower under the stars. You have access to the large communal fire pit on-site when safe to have fires. When you book the Barn all other sites are closed unless also booked by you.
There are two decks attached to the Barn. The front deck faces East and is great for a sunrise practice, soaking up some rays, and night sky viewing. There is outdoor seating with tables and chairs on the side deck near the Oak along with a ping-pong table (balls and paddles included) and a gas grill. Various sit spots are located through trails and gardens.

Wonderful stay and location!
Rebecca was very nice and did everything to make us feel welcome. The Yoga Barn was absolutely perfect for us! We will definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you.
Girls retreat at the yoga barn
We had a wonderful girls weekend at the yoga barn. The environment was warm and welcoming. Rebecca really made the experience special. We did the add-ons for the nature nourishment/ forest bathing on the first day, and a yoga class and guided meditation in the yoga barn the second day. Rebecca gave us a tour of her garden and had home brewed mint tea and cantaloupe for us. We had access to the communal fireplace and grill and enjoyed dinner out on the patio. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!
Perfect mini retreat
This was such a peaceful and pleasant stay! Rebecca was a wonderful host while also giving us plenty of space to explore on our own. We hiked a few on property trails- took advantage of the outdoor shower, harvested some fresh cucumbers and eggs from the garden, did some yoga and meditations inside. It was the perfect little retreat from busy city life :)
Staying at the Yoga Barn was delightful! It was even more peaceful than I had anticipated. It really is gorgeous and clean. The windows are huge and you feel like you are sleeping in the woods. The big windows also reduce the amount of privacy you have as the main house is close by but it didn't interfere with my stay. I felt very comfortable.
Rebecca’s Yoga Barn is an incredible place to stay. The Yoga Barn provided a bug free space to work during the day (WiFi was great) and a looking glass overnight stay. We brought our travel mattress pads as a bed, portable folding table for work desk, and used chairs provided in the space. Behind the Yoga Barn is Rebecca’s forest garden (you must ask her about this as there is so much to learn!) and further behind that are various well kept trails in the woods for forest bathing. This provided us with a great and much needed indoor/outdoor circadian rhythm reset. There are definitely a number of mosquitos on the property so be sure to wear long sleeves and bug spray!
Me and my girlfriends picked this place because we wanted a quick weekend nature getaway and that’s exactly what we got.
We really enjoyed the garden and the trails simply Wyldwood had to offer, the yoga barn was great we loved all the windows facing the backyard meadow and listening to the birds in the morning. I highly recommend visiting Rebecca at simply Wyldwood such an awesome place! Hoping to come back soon 👍
What an amazing place with such a fantastic host. My friends and I spent the weekend at Rebecca’s beautiful property in the yoga barn for the weekend, and it was exactly what we wanted and needed. We stayed while it was raining half the time, and that didn’t put a damper on the stay at all. McKinney Roughs is a mile away, and the hikes were beautiful even in a downpour. Nature and hospitality and a vortex for healing and synchronicities. If you’re thinking about staying here, DO! 🌈😊
Peaceful with everything you need!
The Yoga Barn is a fantastic place to get away and enjoy nature at a secluded beautiful homestead. The barn is a calming space, with a full bath, supplemental outdoor shower (neat!) and deck with grill and nearby fire pit. Loved being there and enjoying a piece of the countryside. McKinney Roughs is close by for some beautiful hiking, there are some great local spots to eat nearby, and it’s perfect to just stay there and hang out too!
