HOT WATER SHOWERS, running water, THREE flush toilets, electrical outlets, device chargers, full kitchen, refrigerator, coffee maker, safe & easy campsite access, all make our remote, off grid campground exceptional in this area!
New in 2022 is our desert wetlands. We have dammed our 12-acre arroyo, which has created a reservoir of water for many months after even a small rain event. Local wildlife flocks to this area in the evenings, as do migratory birds. When there is sufficient water, guests may enjoy wading and swimming in a part of the lake as well.
This listing is ALMOST an exact duplicate of our main listing and was created for those wanting to camp with a large group. We have built seven large campsites that can accommodate up to twelve people, three tents, four vehicles, or 1-2 RVs. This listing is ONLY to book those campsites, as the price is higher than our other camp sites, but less than if you paid for extra people. If you have six or less in your party, you may want to just book one of the "regular" sites.
Many campers book here because they could not get a site IN the National park. That is fine, but we really are a destination spot on our own and we urge you to give our campground a try! You WILL return again!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do NOT try to come here using a map program or GPS unit!!! These will route you down non-existent or impassable roads & we cannot pull you out if you get stuck! Just write us and we will send you safe, detailed directions down easily traversed roads. You may phone as well, but we don't always receive voice mail promptly.
This is a 100% off-grid working poultry/goat/aquaponics ranch! We usually have fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables and even poultry meat available for you to purchase. We also have blocks of ice available for your cooler.
EVERY SITE is spacious and a good distance from others, unintentionally, but effectively: "SOCIAL DISTANCED"! Both Robert & Debbie are fully vaccinated against Covid. We will not require proof of vaccination, but do request that all guests who are not vaccinated, respect mainstream science & medicine and wear masks, or keep your distance.
For a complete, up-to-date description of our campground & ranch, please go to the "Eco-Ranch Sustainable Living Center" listing...… but do reserve this large site on the page!
Your great reviews have placed us as "finalists" in the rankings for "The Best Campground In Texas" for the last two years running! OUTSIDE MAGAZINE recently ranked us the BEST HIPCAMP CAMPGROUND near Big Bend National Park as well!

We stayed near the kitchen at the top of the hill and it was amazing!! The bathroom, shower, and kitchen was so helpful. THE VIEWS!!! Holy cow those views at sunrise and sunset were beautiful and wonderful to wake up to!
I really enjoyed my stay at Eco-Camp. Robert & Debbie have a beautiful, very special place to go camping. It is clearly managed with care, and you feel welcomed from the minute you arrive.
Robert was an awesome host! He was very accommodating to my 15 person group. We could have used a warning about the energy use and limited water availability before it froze but he was kind when the problem arose. He gave us a tour at the end of our stay, the property is so cool!

Eco-Ranch was amazing! My large group had an amazing time, and Robert was super accommodating and friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful, great for exploring, and great for the amazing stars at night (OMG!!!).
It was great. Robert is a stand out guy who takes pride in his camp ground. I was out on a guys trip to Big Bend and arrived after dark. Much easier in the day time, just have to be careful at night. My guys and I had a blast. Fire pits, night stars with the essentials. The kitchen and bathroom on site were great. In the morning we met Roberts wife and their animals too. I highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay here! So much more personable and unique than a public state or national park campground. Robert was great to meet and had lots of information to share on Big Bend, Terlingua, and the surrounding areas.

Unforgettable experience. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and the sustainable system they have set up is very interesting. The views on the property are breathtaking and I can not wait to come back to this spot.

I booked the large group site for myself + 3 kiddos because it was all that was left at the last minute, but there were plenty of campsites available. I opted for a smaller site close to the community kitchen + bathrooms. I do suggest camping a little further away from the main house if you don’t want to hear the poultry periodically throughout the night ramping up to their morning avian rave, but Robert singing to them eat the start of each day was a highlight! Eco Ranch is great when you want a step up from 100% primitive camping with some proximity to other humans. (I appreciate that in rattlesnake country). It was pretty lively during our week stay over spring break, so I wager it is probably a lot quieter during other times. The land is absolutely stunning & the kids had a blast traversing all of the surrounding mini-canyons while I looked on from above within sight & earshot preparing meals. Definitely recommend!
