Relaxing getaway from the big city
The Hill Terrace property is a magical land! We headed out to the south llano to get a great view of the Perseids meteor shower this month and stayed in Cabin three. The cabin is filled with charm and character and everything is thoughtfully arranged for guests. The cabin is very comfortable and stocked w everything we could possibly need while staying in a cabin on the river. We enjoyed cooking meals in the full kitchen and bbq grills are also outside the house and down by the river to cook out. The whole property is filled with special touches. We spent the cooler parts of the day on the front porch, lounging in the chairs overlooking the river and the hotter parts in the beautiful screened in porch or swimming in the river just out the front door from the house. There are birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies galore! We also saw some very cool hummingbird moths enjoying the snapdragon vine on the cabin porch. Glen, the property host, welcomed us warmly when we arrived and shuttled some kayaks upstream so we could enjoy a paddling trip on the gorgeous south llano. This stretch of the river is unbeatable- clean and clear waters with a few fun rapids and we were the only people on the water. The stargazing is also phenomenal from the Hill Terrace property. We loved the convenient location of the cabin- just down the road from the state park and the Paddlers Porch- a fun, casual place to grab some beers and good food. We will definitely be back next time we need to getaway from the city.
Small but quaint river house
It was a cute place, little farther from the water than we thought but not terribly bad. Host was very helpful, sometimes confused on days haha but really accommodating.
Love the llano river, always a treasure.
The cabin is a great step back in time with a lovely porch and some really wonderful river front space. Glen was a knowledgeable and helpful host but walked that perfect line of giving us space. Fantastic experience and we're booking for next year. The proximity of this cabin to the 3 bedroom house allowed for a big family reunion on the Llano
Beautiful, well equipped cabins
We spent 4 nights here and we loved this cabin. It was far nicer than we expected. Upon arrival we checked in with Glenn at his place and he showed us to our cabin. The cabin was clean and charming and well decorated, with a full kitchen, 2 double beds. The front porch is great for hanging out after swimming or playing down by the river. If you need supplies Junction is only 15-minute drive and the South Llano River State Park is about 10 minutes away. We will definitely be making plans for a return trip. Thank you Glenn, it was nice meeting you.
