Convenient and remote feeling
This is a peaceful place to camp and was exactly as described. We stayed 5 days on one tank of water plus drinking water separately. Pulling in and leveling was very easy. The neighbors generator was barely audible and not a problem for us even when ours was off. The weather was really moody and we did more storm watching than stargazing but that suited us fine. Wind. Do not underestimate the wind. The container was great for afternoon sun but the wind was out of the east so not helpful this time. It was already quite hot though and the wind made it almost comfortable in the shade.
Loved the site. We had TERRIBLE weather and we were super thankful for the little bit of shelter the storage box on the site provided. Site was exactly as advertised. We felt very safe and comfortable.
Amazing views and stars at night!
This location was beautiful for us and our two fur kids, if you want clean and secluded this is your spot. We camped across from the shipping container as we were in 40 ft fifth wheel and wanted to see all the views. Chris was awesome he left us some wood, but with winds and burn bands we left for the next campers. We’d def go back, we never saw the host but truly didn’t need to directions on point and pictures helped. Thanks for having the Taylor Filip’s, we hope to visit again.
Well sadly, due to a last minute water tank issue with our RV we couldn’t stay at our site... BUT we did drive past it and it looked beautiful. Also Chris was super friendly and helpful. He gave us gps coordinates to the site so we wouldn’t get lost, gave us tips about the area, answered all our questions, and was just overall very pleasant to speak with. He even offered to help us find another place if we didn’t want to take the RV back there in case of scratches from bushes. I will definitely be booking here again when I can get back out to Terlingua/Big Bend. If you have the ability to boondock I would totally recommend Big Bend Camp Terlingua
Stars, stars and more stars.
As advertised, this is roughing it camping. But the sunsets and the stargazing are absolutely breathtaking. We got up early one morning and could see the Milky Way. Hot showers, ice and a pool are available at Terlingua Ranch for a small fee making this an amazing little out of the way spot. Make use of the container as a windbreak, it gets very windy at night and the container serves well to keep your tent quiet. We absolutely loved our time in the desert.
Exactly what we hoped for!
We loved our stay here! The site is exactly as described. FYI: we were able to fit our 41ft 5th wheel here with epic views. (Not easy, but do-able) Yes, the neighbor did run a generator for a few hours in the evening, but it was NOT all night and did not impact our stay at all.
Super convenient to Big Bend.
Perfect sunrise and sunset views.
Bonus: our 6 & 7 year olds found a few fossils in the fields! Woo hoo!
