What a great place to stay!! Loved sitting out under the stars next to the fire with an amazing bottle of 4R Ranch wine. Can't wait to return!

We stayed at RV site 1. It was quiet, very scenic and the wine was amazing! It had electric and water. Walt met us at the site and showed us where the electric hookup was. He was super nice and was available at the winery if we needed anything.

We attempted to camp here last weekend. There are no signs to the winery until your very last turn. There is one tiny sign to the campsites, but the campsites are so primitive we were for sure that sign was for the tent campers that they describe in the listing, not the RV campers. You’re supposed to call an hour before you arrive. I called twice, no one answered.

So we drove up to the winery on the worst roads our camper has ever been on. It was awful. Then we were told to drive back down to the primitive campsites, where the roads are worse, and - turns out, there’s no electric. They advertise electric to the RVers.

Thankfully we got here in daylight and didn’t arrive late the night before as we were supposed to. So we left, drove an hour to a KOA, and stayed there.

The wine might be good, but I’d never suggest camping here. This was our first time to try out HipCamp and I’m truly disappointed.

Jennifer: I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I will agree that our signage is deficient and that we need to create an actual PDF map for campers that is available online. I am working on both of those items, and am specifically working on a map that we will post on our winery website. (If HipCamp had a better mapping interface on its booking interface, we wouldn’t have to do this). I think fixing these two items (or maybe just one of them) would have eliminated the problems that you complain about, and we should have addressed these problems earlier. That said, I want to set the record straight on some issues: First, I will say that we do not merely “advertise electric to the RVers,” we actually do have two RV sites, which both do -- in fact -- have electricity (one has a 50 amp plug and the other has a 30 amp plug). The other 40 or so reviews of our two RV campsites in our RV HipCamp listing are testament to the existence of these electrical connections, and the reviews of our original tent camping HipCamp listing – which have placed it in the top ten of HipCamp campsites in Texas – are testament to the facts that we not only do very much want our guests to have a quality experience but that we actually have done a lot of work to make sure that they do. Moreover, we had a twenty foot airstream sitting in RV Site #2 last weekend, and the owners just rebooked for the weekend of November 6. Second, the locations of each of the two RV sites are clearly marked on an aerial map that you must select from when you choose between the two RV sites when you initially book on HipCamp (unfortunately, the initial booking is the only time you have access to this map). Third, you are the first camper who has been unable to find the RV Sites. Fourth, when you arrived at the tasting room you told my wife Nicole that you were camping at “Site #2”, rather than “RV Site #2” so she directed you to that campsite, which is for tent camping. Fifth, we do not have cell service on the ranch generally, and in order to make or receive a call one must be at one of the structures that has WiFi calling (or at the entrance to the campsites, which has an open WiFi). Because we were severely understaffed the weekend you arrived (a problem that most hospitality venues are currently experiencing), I was having to run around the ranch without cell service restocking wine and tending to other issues and missed your calls. Finally, we are fortunate to be blessed with extremely hilly terrain, which is beautiful but makes road maintenance challenging.

Great site. Very quiet with nice hot showers. The drive there is interesting and unique - fields of small old oil rigs against a backdrop of huge new windmills.

Great place! Just be careful of hills. Some are difficult with a trailer.

4R really exceeded our expectations. We stayed the weekend for my hubby's birthday and had a wonderful time. We have a 24 ft. tow trailer and we stayed at Site 2. It was perfect. Electric hookup only (we have 30 amp). The camp site is located a little further up the road from the other sites so it felt fairly private. You do get traffic from cars coming in and out of property passing by but no big deal. Site is located right by the vineyards. The property was beautiful and hilly and was very unexpected as it is pretty flat on the drive there. The hiking trail was really nice. We got wine to go the first night and had dinner in the tasting room the 2nd. Food and wine are amazing and staff is so friendly. We got a Hipcamp discount when we bought wine. Take time to drive in to Muenster if you have it. We stopped at a coffee shop, strolled through antique mall and bought food at the German market. It was a great weekend and we will go back!

Beautiful property with well maintained campsites and awesome views! Cute western decor for the shower and restroom facilities.
Only 2 showers and 1 portable toilet for the whole place. Showers were adequate with warm water, but needed to be cleaned. The portable toilet was disgustingly full. OK if you want a truly rustic experience.
