Welcome to Soaring Cedars Campsite at Plentiful Hill!

Named after the more than 20 mature red cedar trees growing in this spot, this extra-large site, less than an hour from Nashville, is perfect for families and groups**. It’s right off Plentiful Hill’s main entrance with easy car access and plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. The site is flanked by woods and a seasonal creek (this creek bed is also awesome to explore when it’s dry) and is big enough that even if your group pitches several tents, there is plenty of room for separation and privacy. There is direct access to trails, and right across the creek and right across the road are open fields perfect for dark-sky stargazing. Bonus adventure: Can you find the well-hidden and very old good luck charm at this site?  (**Check out our other campsites for different options.**)

**Message us directly to inquire about group reservation. We expect groups that are respectful and mature who are looking to enjoy the peaceful nature of our property.

At the site:

  • Portable firepit
  • Portable picnic table
  • Hung hammock
  • Toilet bucket with privacy tent if requested (must provide own liners)
  • Camp sink
  • Property/trail maps
  • Guide books for Tennessee wildlife, birds, vegetation

To note:

  • **Ticks and chiggers will want to love on ya during the spring/summer/fall.  Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray and be prepared to do “tick checks” throughout the day.**
  • Most vehicles should have no problem accessing Soaring Cedars.
  • Don’t worry if you hear the occasional gunshot from neighboring properties; that’s common down in the country especially during fall hunting season.
  • Our farm dogs are alert through the night, so you may hear some barking up the hill.
  • Soaring Cedars is the closest of the campsites to our country road.  While traffic is minimal, it can sometimes be loud.
  • All trash and waste MUST be packed out.
  • Dogs are welcome and must not bother the horses or goats. Please pick up and dispose of waste.
  • Although this site flanks the main path in and out of Plentiful Hill, it is very private.  You can position your tent spot in the far northern end and be a good ways away from the path.

We’ve developed and are continually maintaining trails across the 375 acres of Plentiful Hill. Some of the trails are wide and open and give you great access to the beautiful pastures. Other trails are narrow and twist through the unendingly interesting woods. All trails have names and are identified with signs and posted maps. The woods trails are also marked with flags and ribbons to help you stay on track. The terrain varies from flat and open to hilly and wooded.

Bring your bike to tour around the local country roads or try your hand at riding off-road on our trails. The roads and trails are great for runners too, so plan to get your exercise in while you visit!

The Town of Chapel Hill is 10 minutes away and has a Dollar General, small grocery store, some restaurants, a laundry mat, and a few boutique shops...enough to satisfy all your needs while visiting!

Henry Horton State Park is 15 minutes south of us, and it has several playgrounds, trails, an outdoor pool in the summer, and access to the Duck River.

We’re less than 30 minutes from Spring Hill and Lewisburg, less than 40 minutes from Franklin and Murfreesboro, and, surprisingly, less than 50 minutes from downtown Nashville.

    About Plentiful Hill

We are proud of our wild homeplace and love sharing its beauty and peacefulness with others!  Plentiful Hill is 375 rolling acres of beautiful woods and spacious open fields on the northern outskirts of Chapel Hill, TN.  It has a pond, several cedar glades, marked hiking trails, an historic family cemetery, a seasonal creek, a variety of wildlife, and Buckeye Ridge, elevation 1,112 feet.  The anchor of the property, our white, two-story farmhouse, was built in 1812.

Three generations live on, love, and actively use this land. On any given day, someone in our family will invariably be riding a horse, taking a Gator ride, running/hiking the trails, or out working on property tasks. Every effort will be made to avoid your campsite area during your visit.

Plentiful Hill is a wild place.  We aim to make it accessible and enjoyable to visitors, but we ultimately submit to the inescapable power, beauty, and essence of nature.  Please anticipate and prepare for normal outdoor issues including bug bites, snake encounters, and severe weather.

These are difficult times for a lot of folks, and we want our property to be a safe and inviting place for people of all backgrounds. It's important to us that people of color, those in the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone else who might sometimes feel unwelcomed in outdoor spaces feel especially comfortable and accepted while staying with us.

This is the second time we have camped here at Soaring Cedars and it didn't disappoint. Corinna is extremely nice and understanding if anything arises. Our dogs love the homemade treats they make and the wood we got from them had us comfortable all night. I highly recommend Plentiful Hills!

Plentiful Hill Farm is a beautiful property steeped in history. We spent the day exploring the wonderfully maintained hiking trails, checked out all the sittin' spots, and went back out at night to explore in the dark. The host was very helpful, and the campsite was large and secluded. We will be coming back!

Camping was great. Extremely quiet. Had trails to walk on. Among the trails are mailboxes with treats inside for the kids. Dry firewood, campsite had been cut low with a mower. Kids loved to play on the hammock

Could not recommend this site enough! Plenty of space for our party of 8. Our dog loved exploring the woods. Corinna and her mother greeted us at the gate and explained everything we needed to know. Loved the option of adding water and firewood at checkout. The kids loved the creek and the treasures hidden along the way. Could of recommend this site enough. Next time we just need to stay longer!
