When we arrived Craig meet us and was so welcoming. We loved our camp spot. It was very quiet and we got to be close to the horses. The camp site was surrounded by tress with a wide open pasture to view the stars. I would definitely camp here again.

Wonderful, peaceful space. Safe stop point for long road trips. The goats and horses were super friendly, and my dog Rosie and I loved falling asleep to the sounds of toads and cicadas around the pond. The motion sensor lights around the property made for easy late-night tent set up. There are also spaces without the lights so you can go to sleep quick.

Such a beautiful farm. We fed the goats (including the adorable kids!), horses (brought our own apples), and chatted with Rosemary, the horse trainer. She introduced us to Storm (GORGEOUS) and let us give the horses treats. Thr animals are obviously loved, they’re so gentle, even Cap, the big stallion. There are also a pot bellied pig, ducks, geese and chickens on the farm.

Bathroom is a port-a-potty by the main house otherwise you pack yours in and out. The fire pit is nice and there are BBQ grills for use.

Definitely stop, they're all incredibly nice people.

I was really quite disappointed by the site. It was a mess, unorganized, and overall disappointing. After being shown around, my wife (who is pretty hearty) looked at me and said, “we’re not staying here.” We had paid for two nights and stayed for zero. I will not recommend this site.

Response from Craig, the Host, on June 7th, 2021

Booking #736994 Kevin M. did not call 1hr in advance of his arrival. We do not know what time Kevin M. actually arrived. He didn't call me, Craig Barbour, until 5:07PM on May 31. Kevin spoke with me at that time, and he apologized for not reading the listing carefully about calling in advance of his arrival. He spoke as though he was exited and okay with the booking. Strangely, Kevin didn't want a guide to take him to pick out a campsite. He wanted to find one on his own, which is not permitted. While Kevin was on the phone with me, my farm manager arrived to greet him. My farm manager informed me that Kevin and his wife had two small children and that they would need running water at their campsite. My farm manager informed them that we provide a 5 gallon container of potable water to every site, but there is no running water, except at the farmhouse campsite. The farm manager informed them that they would have to go to the website and cancel their booking. It wasn't until the next day that I realized that Kevin had not canceled or even called back to cancel his booking. It appears that this individual was more interested in trying to diminish our "excellent" rating than to get a refund. Hipcamp even ask Kevin if he was seeking a refund, and he said no. I believe Kevin was a "fake camper" or a very ill prepared traveler. Our refund policy can't get anymore "Super Flexible." Camping Off The Grid at Barbour Farm is not a resort. Barbour Farm is recognized by Middle Tenn State University's Center for Historic Preservation and the US Dept of Agriculture as a Century Farm. Sincerely Yours, Craig Barbour, owner "Camping Off The Grid" At Barbour Farms

We were greeted by a friendly guide who took us to our site in a back pasture. Water and port-o-potty were provided and our fire ring had wood waiting for us to use. We loved the whole experience. So awesome to wake up to a sunny day in a field near some woods and a pond - and have it all to ourselves! Thanks, Craig!
