Voted the Best Hip Camp to visit in South Dakota in 2021... Quiet 11 acre Produce/hobby farm 8 miles south of Interstate 90 and 23 miles west of Sioux Falls. A large garden and several pets including Dogs, Cats, Chickens, Turkeys, Peacocks, and Guinea's. Out back is a small pond frequented by a variety of birds and animals, ducks, geese, hawks, woodpeckers, owls, and pheasants to name a few.
There are 6 tent or self contained dry camp sites spaced out near the pond. Picnic tables and firepits are at all sites and an adequate amount of firewood is included with additional firewood that can be purchased. There is also a storm shelter available should weather warrant.
I also have 3 RV sites with 30amp Electric and Water Hookups available listed as Uncle B's RV Camp.
I mowed a short walking/hiking/biking nature trail around and through the property that winds around the pond and a small old quarried stone rail road bridge. A great place for a short stroll and to check out some of the wildlife that frequent the pond.
The shower shack is fully functional with two complete 3/4 bath rooms. next on the list is a screened in "clubhouse and eventually a basic outdoor kitchen but for now there is a utility sink that can be used for dishes.
I have a large garden and usually have produce to share depending on the season, and how well the garden does. past guests have been offered tomato's, peppers, and squash along with farm fresh, free range, eggs all at no charge. I also have the equipment to host a Drive Inn movie and weather permitting and with enough interest from guests plan to start doing so Memorial Day weekend. Movie will start around dusk (weather permitting) popcorn and other concessions will be available...
Lake Vermillion State Park is 6 miles away with swimming, fishing and paddling options. Thunder Valley Dragstrip in Marion is 10 miles away with weekend drag-racing. I-90 Speedway (dirt track) is about 20 miles and have 3 classes of stock cars on Saturday nights. The Ortman Chiropractic Clinic in Canistota is 6 miles. Sioux Falls and the Sanford Premier Center is about 25 miles. Great Pheasant hunting in every direction with public hunting area's near by.

A great place to stay!
Brian pulled out all the stops to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable when we pulled in late at night. He even left us some farm fresh eggs and garden veggies as well as S’Mores fixin’s and some treats for our kiddos. The chickens, turkeys and peacocks (!!!) were such fun to watch and the kitty was really friendly as well. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay - complete with hot showers in the shower house - and would love to to return on a future trip through the area. Thanks for everything, Brian!
We love uncle b’s!
We LOVED our stay at Uncle B’s!
Brian was a most thoughtful host; he went above and beyond to accommodate and make our stay truly enjoyable!
Great locations, delicious shared garden and coop bounty, good hot showers/restrooms, and a campsite cat! We couldn’t ask for more and we’ll be back every time we can!!
Brian is the man! Loved our stay here. Showers were super nice, property was beautiful, veggies were tasty, animals were adorable.. what more can you ask for!? Will def be staying here again
Quiet, secluded oasis
Close to several state parks, this was a fantastic retreat spot we look forward to visiting again and again. A quiet location and an accommodating host made this an unforgettable experience!
Best in south dakota!
We stopped at Brian'farm on the first day of our long riad trip, coming from Minneapolis and heading to the Badlands. All I can say is wow! I'm so happy I found this place. Brian made everything easy for us. He was so welcoming and he explained everything about his farm in the area. The farm is perfectly located if you're heading to West. The bathrooms were super clean and the little sink area so convenient for washing dishes. We had an amazing quiet night. Brian gave us plenty of delicious fresh tomatoes and green peppers from his garden. He also was able to give us fresh eggs!! Our breakfast was excellent thanks to those fresh products. I highly recommend this place and again thank you so much for your time and kindness Brian. Hope to see you on a next trip.
Outstanding in his field
Our stay could not have been better! Brian went far above and beyond any other camping experience I have had. The grounds were lovely and the showers, bathroom and kitchen are new and well supplied. But Brian is the star of the farm and his personality and small touches of hospitality were exceptional.
100% yes! thanks brian!
Brian is the coolest! Extremely considerate and friendly guy. He shared some delicious vegetables with us. Cute animals all over the property. Super fun and quaint. Had everything we needed
All the awesome reviews of Uncle B’s are tight on the money. I regret that we couldn’t stay longer. We booked the same day that we were staying. Brian quickly responded and answered all my questions throughout the day. Even gave us good advice on what town to stop in for take out before arriving. We didn’t arrive until around 9pm. Brian greeted us to park the bus and already had a fire going for us. His complimentary fire bundle comes complete with wood, starter cardboard and a jug of water for extinguishing. He even had a s’mores kit for us! He has literally thought of all the things a traveler could need and so much more like farm fresh eggs and seasonal veggies. Some items are for rent at ridiculously reasonable rates. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. The walk to the bathroom/shower house is illuminated by motion sensor lights. The bathrooms/shower house is clean, modern and had all the necessities plus more…shampoo, conditioner and fem products in case you forgot your own. Brian was so welcoming. He sat by the fire with us for awhile as we all swapped stories. I didn’t get to see the farm in the daylight but we will definitely be returning for a longer stay. Uncle B’s Farm is exactly what these weary travelers needed!!!
