Drive (or hike) through the pasture down to Chickasaw creek.  Close the gate behind you and be cut off from the world for a while.   Pitch your tent (or pop up your camper) and listen to the creek gurgle.   Build a campfire.  Gaze up at the stars and sing - or just be silent and watch the wildlife.

The single campsite will be all yours - we only do one booking at a time.  (There is plenty of space for multiple tents if you want to bring friends)  You'll be on 90 acres, at the opposite corner from my home.  From this campsite, there's only one electric light visible - over on the neighbor's property.

This is our second time camping here. There is now a picnic table and log sets around the fire pit. It's a great spot. Lots of privacy and a great view of the stars! The drive through the pasture is bumpy so a truck is recommended I would say. The hosts are gracious and very helpful. It's very shady at the camping spot which is great. Our dogs and children love the creek. It's strange how a place so close to home can feel so far away. Definitely will be back!

The Darby’s were WONDERFUL hosts. They were available by text the entire time but kept their space during our stay which was nice. The campsite is several fields (and gates) away from their house. Other than the *occasional* sound of traffic, you’d think you were a million miles away from the world (in reality it’s only about 2 miles if that to a DG lol).
We had a blast walking up the creek and exploring the area. It was ankle to mid calf deep while we were there so it was perfect for my 2yo nephew to splash and play in! As far as the actual site, it was spacious and SO peaceful! There’s a pond to fish in as well. Definitely watch for ticks (but that’s to be expected). We will for sure be staying here again :) Thanks Mike and Lyn!!

It’s was an absolutely beautiful camp site! Wonderful hosts! We ended up with a dead battery and Mike was more than happy to lend us jumper cables! Heck he and his wife were kind enough to bring us an air compressor to blow up out air mattress since we forgot ours! We also had our 5 kids with us and they had a blast. Especially in the creek. We can’t wait to go back!!

Mike and Lynn are about as friendly and accommodating as can be. The camping spot is a lovely, quiet, gated woody area with a creek next to their cow pasture. To get there we followed our hosts on their ATV in our truck with a cab-over camper through the pasture. It was not quite a road but was no problem for our vehicle. We have—but did not use—four wheel drive. I’d not recommend it for a large RV or any low clearance vehicle. If you have a truck or SUV and want your own private spot, this is for you!

We still have 1 more night here but are so happy with the spot. It's very private and we have had a wonderful time. Our kids are loving the creek. Of course it's very primitive with no power or bathrooms. We can get water from a well house but it's a good little drive. I would call the drive to get here rough. Not for a truck but my van struggled. BUT it's a great place and we'll be back for sure. Owner very nice and helpful. Never seen such a dark night with so many stars.

Mike is a gracious host. He offered us firewood and water before escorting us through the fields to the site. The barbed wire gate is difficult to open and close. The site is private and comfortable by the small creek that we drove to and parked. There was a cell phone signal which made my daughter happy. There are many fire ant mounds that I found the first night. It is a relaxing spot.
