When travelling between Alberta and Saskatchewan, don’t take firewood with you, as there's an effort to slow the spread of disease and pests between provinces. It is actually illegal to bring firewood into many of Canada's national parks for this reason. You’ll need a vehicle to get to and around the parks and campsites near Lloydminster. No provincial sales tax applies in Alberta, while Saskatchewan charges a 6% provincial sales tax. If you need to buy equipment, supplies, or even gas, it’ll be cheaper on the Alberta side of this border city.
