Robert was a wonderful host and the camp space was stunning. Very peaceful and distant from other sites so felt very private. The platypus came up to say hello a few times which really made for a great start to each day!
Incredible site, and Robert and his incredible dog were wonderful hosts. Saw our first platypus within 30 minutes of arrival in the early afternoon, then a bit later we didn't know where to look they were everywhere! 😍
The rest of the Stud is incredible too- wildlife and birdlife all round, and a brilliant waterhole, perfect for the heart of the day.
Best site I've been to in the last 20 years.
Unique and peaceful campsite
Platypus Hole at Sarabah Stud was incredible. This site is right on the creek where there is so much to see - many platypus, turtles, birds, fish and more. The swimming hole on the other side of the property is amazing too, nice and fresh. It rained quite a bit before we got to the campsite so for any 2wd drivers it is possible to get to the site but you just need to stay on the grass and be confident when driving in the more wet areas. So much room to yourself, quiet, peaceful and unique this has got to be one of the best campsites I’ve ever stayed at.
Weekend with a platypus
Fantastic camp site. Felt very private and tranquil. We saw three different platypus in the creek with one surfacing right below us near the bank. Will be back for sure
Hidden gem on the creek
Fabulous private hidden site from other campers right on the creek with tranquil views. Nice having the fire pit on a chilly night and the porta loo comes in handy to. Had a daily visit to our site from the horses & cows. Explored the rest of the property walking along the flowing creek. So lots of spots for a dip in the water on a hot & sunny day. Another bonus was Sarabah Winery within walking distance. Will most definitely return
