We have a half-acre property of stunning established native gardens East facing Fraser Island. Our home is a 115-year-old Queenslander situated at the front of the block. We want to share how blessed we are to live in Turtle Cove so decided to list it with Hipcamp.

They think it is a great place to use as a base camp to explore the Fraser Coast Region, knowing that 'Your camp' is safe and secure with us. The property is also surrounded by 6ft timber and wire fencing and guarded by two scary looking Bull Arab dogs. But no need to be concerned, once you are inside their territory, you are their best friend.

I have created a 'beach' around a canoe filled with lilies and goldfish. The solar fountain trickles in the background whilst you lay back in your settler chair to read a book.....so relaxing. There are 3 choices of hammocks hanging around the property and many spots to sit in the shade around the garden.

The atmosphere on any given day, to me, is sublime. My favourite chore is hanging the washing out - why? Because I get to stare at Fraser Island and the deep blue sea surrounding it. I take in the beautiful breezes that flow from the Island and feel like I am literally there.....listen to the myriad of birdlife in and around our property. It is so peaceful here I feel like I am on holiday every day.

We are only a short 5-minute drive to the ferry over to Fraser Island.  You can head over for a day trip, which I highly recommend, or take your vehicle to see all that Fraser has to offer. Believe me, it is an amazing place to visit.

As our house is a high set you will have access underneath to a toilet, laundry and fridges to store your food. We have 2 Patina Fireplaces for those chilly evenings. Firewood is available to purchase. If and when it rains there is plenty of room under the house to dry out.

The Bay here is protected which makes it great for swimming, kayaking or stand up paddle-boarding. The esplanade walkway wraps all the way along the coastline and is great for a bike ride or walk. We are only 10 minutes from the Esplanade.

Pets are allowed upon request as we have 2 dogs (Bull Arabs). Fortunately, we have fenced off the front area of the house so your pets can have their freedom around your campsite.

Easy to find and lots of space as we were the only ones in the campground which we are super thankful for as could have been a bit of a squeeze with another camper with all the lovely fruit trees around. Friendly, kind and helpful host who was generous with local area information. No showers or kitchen area. Toilet and laundry sink only. Campground had several dog poops scattered around.

Jodie has created her own beautiful tropical getaway in her backyard. Within the holiday town on the coast looking out towards the famous Fraser island Jodies fantastic Queenslander lays shelter to a quiet in town camping opportunity amongst an extensive variety of fruit and flowering trees and bird life. Truely beautiful, you even have your own mini beach and fish pond. Jodie has also provided access to toilet, laundry facilities and a spa!

A King Parrot- We couldn't believe how alive Jodies yard was with wildlife.Plenty of spots in the yard to lay down, relax and take in the flora and faunaThe Front Gate of Jodies beautiful homeMore beautiful birds that nest in the yard

We had a very easy time here with our two kids and small dog. We loved waking up with the birds (so many with beautiful songs), kids loved the trampoline and fish ponds, many nice things to do nearby and Jodie was extremely helpful and friendly. Our last morning fishing down by the public boat ramp at River Heads was also very successful! 🎣
