Great small private site with lake

Suzy is a wonderful host: kind, unobtrusive and very helpful. The site is big enough for 1 medium or 2 small tents and could use a little grading to help with drainage during heavy rain. The lake is gorgeous and it was great to have the kayak available to explore the lakes edge. The dock was also a nice spot to sit in sun. Lot's of birds and very quiet private area. The blueberry muffins Suzy baked were welcome during our cold weather!

Thank you for ypur kind words and constructive suggestions. I had not seen the area in a heavy rain. I did offer you the use of a large double garage to help with the downpour. Perhaps I should have asked the size of your tents. 1 tent was quite large. I am glad you enjoyed the lake, the dock and a local hike to the ocean.

Beautiful setting! Kayaking was great for a beginner as long as the wind was calm. The chickens were cute and friendly, and not bothersome to me. Friendly hostess.

Though there is good privacy from the house, the site is right next to the drive, so no privacy from visitors. I wish the site was more level. One day there was a deluge of rain and there were large puddles all over the site. There’s no place I could have located my tent that wouldn’t have put me in a puddle. Luckily in Oregon in the summer, that won’t be an issue for most. Beware if camping during rainy season.

Suzy has an amazing spot on a lake and generously offers her kayaks and access to the dock. She's delightful to chat with and close by but the space is very private as well. There is a porta-potty and while this is never my favorite is was clean and convenient.

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful slice of heaven. Sitting on the dock stargazing with the silhouette of the trees. stars reflecting on the lake, with the sound of the ocean in the distance? And then waking up to fresh muffins before a paddle? So. Very. Lovely. With any luck, we’ll be back.

Suzy’s place was the highlight of our 10-day coastal camping trip! Her place is quiet, private, & full of personal touches. She has thought of everything, including multiple sizes of life jackets for the kayaks, an extension cord for charging devices, water hose, a picnic table, a granite square to protect the table from camp stove heat, a little “store” filled with handmade jams made with local, organic berries & home-canned tuna. She even put a fresh bouquet of flowers in the porta potty! Surrounding the campsite were bushes covered in ripe huckleberries, & trees alive with the sounds of woodpeckers & squirrels. In the morning, we woke to warm blueberry muffins. The best part was kayaking early in the morning on the lake. A thick mist rose from the lake water, the crisp clean air a respite from the wildfire smoke we fled. A great blue heron speared fish among white and purple water lilies. We were the only ones on the entire lake. Later that afternoon, after exploring nearby parks, I took a swim in the lake as Suzy suggested. It was so refreshing! Long story short, this camp that was supposed to just be a stopover has now become a destination for our next trip. Thank you again Suzy for the wonderful hospitality!

Could not have found a more peaceful and enjoyable camp site. And, oh my, the blueberry pie and muffins! Have never eaten so decadently on a camping trip before. Suzy was the perfect hostess, helpful but not intrusive. Would definitely camp there again.

Our stay at Bull Frog Bay was just perfect for our needs. Suzy was a kind and generous host, and had lots of fun add-one beyond just camping. We devoured her homemade blackberry pie and blueberry muffins!! And we had fun playing on the lake in the kayaks, though we chickened out on an evening swim after. The chickens were fun to hang out with and helped clean up our campsite too. I would definitely recommend this site!
