Awesome campsite and great tent platform! Lots of public land in the area (lookup BLM maps) and there's some great hiking up the valley and in the Alsea Falls area.
I brought my brother out for his birthday for camping and fishing. There is great access to the N. Fork Alsea River. The camping spot is fantastic and secluded. The hosts were very nice. The baby goats are the cutest thing ever. I will definitely be coming back with my family. This is a dogs paradise!
Absolutely serene. Charming farm. Lovely views. Plenty of open space and privacy. Picnic table, tent platform, firepit, clean and cute outhouse. Was greeted by their darling border collie. Fell asleep to the burbling creek and frogs. Delightful. Communication was great and friendly. 10/10 would stay again!
I arrived late and left early but my stay on the farm was no less than excellent. I was greeted with directions upon arrival, again despite my lateness, and found the campsite to be lovely and just as expected.
This was a lovely campsite at the back of a large field with a stream 20 feet away. My dog was in Heaven! I had phone signal and Alsea general store was just a mile away for the goodies I forgot. For my own use there was a composting toilet in a charming out house. Pup and I played endless fetch and hiked Mary's Peak which is 20 min away. The owners were welcoming and treated me to a sample of their gorgeous garlic. I would happily stay again and recommend Square Roots to anyone needing a get away.
Peaceful, beautiful and lovely!
Loved the area, very spacious, plenty of privacy!
