Amazing hidden gem!
This place is awesome! So quaint! And a perfect get away! Stayed in the canvas tents. A Hester was provided that was turned on early so the cabin was warm and cozy! And it was mid-January! Definitely coming back and a great launch spot for adventures in the area!
Nice quiet campground in the trees.
Great camp setup with RV sites and tent Glamping site in nice big canvas tents. I had a quick in and out one night stay and enjoy the big trees and peace and quiet. Located next to an actions sports camp, and the hills which allow for lots of hiking and relazing.
The diesel heater on our Winnebago Revel needed repair. We chose to try out the Adventure Rig Sites because they are conveniently located within a 15-minute drive of Rixen's. We also work full time and use our AT&T and Verizon hotspots for internet access. Both carriers have good service at their property. While there are ways to camp overnight for free in the area, we appreciated access to clean, hot showers, and their fitness center at a reasonable nightly rate. We've stayed at a neighboring RV park for almost twice as much but there wasn't much benefit to the extra cost. Jim, the camp host, was very welcoming and accommodating. We weren't sure if Rixen's would need to keep our van overnight and it was helpful to know that Jim could put us in one of their glamping tents, which are dog friendly, if needed. It was cold and rainy out when we were there in November but their tents have amazing heaters. We are excited to stay there again when the ski season is in full swing.
Awesome place with great host!
The campground is nice and quiet, with an incredibly beautiful landscape for a backdrop. It feels like you’re deep in the woods without being too far from civilization. The host was extremely helpful, but after checking in we were left alone to enjoy the place in peace. Altogether a great place in a beautiful part of the country!
Will not be disappointed !
Absolutely amazing! All the amenities you need in a nice warm bungalow tent!
Also, the most accommodating and friendly staff you could ask for. They will do their best to make your stay above expectations
A gem in the forest.
What a wonderful surprise this place was! The host (Jim) was awesome, he showed us around and gave us a tour of the school and campground. The facilities were clean and top notch. We really enjoyed meeting the other campers around the fire pit and cooking freshly foraged chanterelles. Incredible evening. Thanks for the hospitality and memories!
