I am a country girl who loves to meet people from around the world and explore cultures. Steve is my husband and the capable hand that brought my dream of a HipCamp alive. We are happy to welcome families and respectful friend groups to drink in nature and make memories here. You are at least a 1/2 km removed from other buildings.
We are committed to a private yet supported, roughing-it outdoors camping opportunity. You will have 1 large campsite to yourself beside a river in a lightly forested area, surrounded by farmland. We only book one group at a time so you can enjoy this piece of country in privacy.
Cook all your own food over a campfire, or order pizza delivered to the house and we can run it back with the four-wheeler. A pop-up screen and luggable loo bring you privacy for bathroom needs.
Wake to the gobble of wild turkeys and possibly the yipping of coon kits or wild coyotes. Bring your pet. You can drive your own 4x4 near the campsite when it's dry (the last hill is carry-in), or hike the 1 km of moderate terrain while we run your supplies back with our four-wheeler and cart. Buy campfire bundles or chop your own from abundant amounts of deadfall in the woods.
During the day you can wade up the river or dangle a line or drop in a canoe (in early spring). Every week of the year, the river changes and offers its own experience, sometimes full and fast, and sometimes slow and meandering. We welcome you to harvest the woods for berries, build wigwams with downed wood, and wander the trails with your canine family member to enjoy off-leash roaming. Once you turn in for the night, you will sleep well in the quiet with darkness high-lighting the stars.
We are near Millbank with the famous Anna Mae's bakery and pleasant, family-run, Zehr's Country Market for fresh local foods and basic groceries. Kitchener-Waterloo and Listowel are the nearest largest cities. You will be immersed in nature but still have access to modern amenities in town!Pitch your tent beside a river with the woods at your back!
We are committed to a private yet supported, roughing-it outdoors camping opportunity. The large campsite (total room for 4+ tents) is spread beside a river, sometimes a creek, in a forested area, surrounded by farmland. We rent our camp to only one group at a time, so you will never hear stranger's voices, only bird song, the gobble of wild turkeys and possibly the yipping of fox or coon kits. Cook all your own food over a campfire, or order pizza delivered to the house and we can run it back with the four-wheeler. A pop-up screen and luggable loo bring you privacy for bathroom needs. Bring your pet. You can drive a 4x4 to the hill above the campsite (unless there's been a lot of rain) or hike the 1 km of moderate terrain while we run your supplies back with a four-wheeler and cart. Buy campfire bundles or find and chop your own from deadfall in the woods.

If your longer stay calls for a shower, we offer a camp shower in a separate building at the front of the farm. We are 7 minutes from Millbank with the famous Anna Mae's Restaurant and Bakery. Millbank also features Zehr's Country Market, a family-run grocery and ice-cream shop, Millbank Cheese Factory, and Millbank Country Hardware. Wellesley (8 min) boasts Smitzsville Restuarant and Smitz Bulk Foods, a food, ice-cream and gift shop which is an entire experience on its own. Or walk the creaking wooden floors of Canada's oldest family-run grocery store in Linwood (15 min). Our area is immersed in quiet, peaceable farming and a cherishing of old paths. You may be lucky enough to see horses at work in the fields. For longer hikes, the area is criss-crossed with railway trails turned to walking trails for you and your pets.
