The Oak Den is a seven acre private backyard escape located 20 minutes from London, Ontario. Just a short walk to the campsites away from the main road allows for multiple tents and a more secluded experience with your family or group.
FEATURES:
A tranquil forest surrounds the area with lots of wildlife to watch including birds, rabbits, deer, raccoons, groundhogs, toads and much more. Fireflies in the early summer months are a must-see along with the sounds of turkeys in the spring and coyotes occasionally howling in the distance. A large communal campfire area and a few easy walking trails to the Thames River make this a perfect little escape from the city life without having to travel too far.
CAMPSITES:
There are a number of campsites for you to choose from located on the property but we only host one group of people in tents at a time to ensure a peaceful experience for each visitor. Each site has its own fire pit and can occupy 2-3 tents depending on the size. For our camping guests we have a ‘luggable loo’ outdoor bathroom unit for your personal use.

Our stay on Abby's land was absolutely perfect! The instructions were very clear, we got help moving our stuff multiple times, and the trails around the camp were a real treat. The fireflies at twilight captured our hearts! I can hardly belive we found such a great place.
A beautiful place! As a single female camper I felt very safe here. Loved the trails, river and critters around the place. Abby was very hospitable and thoughtful. Definitely will be returning
Abby and Cam have done a lovely job creating a getaway on their 7-acre property. It's the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature.
The trails, access to a canoe and the river, bonfire pit and hammock are all the essentials a person needs to enjoy some time away from the city.
Abby was a gracious host who took the time to show us around the property and make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We'll be back!
We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Oak Den! It is the perfect way to spend a little time away without having to travel too far out of the city. By the time you reach the campsites and Cocoon Cabin, you are surrounded by tall tress, the sounds of birds chirping and bugs buzzing.
We spent time walking the trail to the Thames, lounging in the hammock, hanging out by the fire, visiting the piggies, playing fetch with the dog and just having a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Abby was available whenever we needed something and just really made the trip extra special with her kindness.
We are so grateful to have had this experience and we will definitely we back!
