Fieldview is a really special place that we want to share with all of you- - we have organic kitchen gardens, fruit trees, unique buildings (a small cabin with a traditional Russian trimwork, aka "gingerbread house on steroids", a unique cordwood outhouse), an apiary and a friendly habitat for all living beings. We love nature and live a simple, minimalist lifestyle, growing our own food, caring for our Mother Earth and creating beautiful things that last. Located on a quarter acre of land, tucked into a corner of a hay field, surrounded by fields, forests, and hedgerows, there is a house, cabin, woodworking shop, and a few outbuildings. We have plenty of lawn space if you want to play ball or just lay on the grass! We have a fire-pit, a spot to spread a blanket under a big White Pine or relax in a hammock in the shade of the two Balsam firs. The campsite has an electrical cord available for you phone/computer charging needs. There is a kitchen table and a few chairs for you and your family to enjoy outdoor meals and drinks. We have just built a brand new composting toilet equipped with a little sink (we provide hand towels, toilet paper and soap) and outdoor shower with COLD running water. We are working on having hot water available - please be patient with us! We ask not to smoke on the property (no tobacco, cigarettes, marijuana or vaping), please go for a walk on the road if you need to have a smoke. Clean up and pack all your garbage. We have a very social outdoor cat that would likely spend days with you. He is very, very interested in food and can not control himself, just be aware that he might steal and chew through bags. We specifically provided a plastic bin for you to cat-proof all your food. PLEASE NOTE: There is an ongoing fire ban on Manitoulin Island - no open fires or fireworks. Camp stoves are allowed.Pitch your tent in a secluded spot on the edge of the 1/4 acre property, overlooking the fields and hedgerows. Surrounded by mature White Cedars and Balsam Firs, this sweet little spot offers fairy magic, coziness, some privacy and shade. Ground cover is a thick soft layer of cedar mulch. Two lawn chairs and a table are there for your use. Located not far from the main house and a cabin, the campsite still offers considerable privacy. The fire pit for the small evening fires is in the open, between the gardens and your campsite. The composting toilet is half a minute walk on the other side of the property. You'll have access to our cloth line for drying your gear. Delicious well water is available at the garden tap. Electricity is available at your campsite through an extension cord. We have a slow-going construction project in the works on the property. There is a green metal buggy cart for you to haul you camping gear to the site - welcome to use it. We also provide a Rubbermaid storage container for your food. Our very social cat who lives outside will likely be very interested in your food so please make sure to pack away everything. The cat can open bags and help himself… World-famous Providence bay beach is a 20-minute drive, and a few locally-known swimming spots are within a 10-minute drive.We'll give you a Manitoulin must-see map when you arrive.

Cozy Fieldview Campsite

The area is beautiful and plenty of space for my hammock and tent, the wildfire smoke in the upper atmosphere messed up my plans for astrophotography but it was still a very dark sky The filtered water was great and while the listing says no shower I was able to use the showerhead in the outhouse which only has cold water.

Anastasia and George were lovely hosts. The campsite really is cozy! We appreciated the extension cord for power, the fresh flowers on the table, and the clean and well-lit outhouse with compostable toilet. Thanks for the helpful suggestions for things to do on the island!

Fieldview is the most adorable spot ever. There is so much attention to detail, from supplied water, a cart to move your gear and the flowers on the table. The hosts we're lovely, right down to going over places to go and see during my time on Manitoulin. Thank you for making my first HipCamp experience absolutely lovely.

Cozy Fieldview Campsite

So charming!

Charming little site on a beautiful property. Water and power are provided! What a bonus after coming from powerless sites on the mainland. You even have access to a newly built washroom about 20 steps from the site. The views of the field were lovely to wake up to <3 Close to ferry and not far from grocery stores. Perfect little spot as a basecamp to explore the island! George and Anastasia were great hosts! Can't recommend enough and will definitely be back. Note: Be mindful of the cat around your food!! :P

Cozy Fieldview Campsite

Really lovely spot

This was a perfect way to experience Manitoulin Island. George and Anastasia are the most warm and welcoming hosts you could ask for, and the site itself is tucked away in a quiet corner of the yard in the trees with a view of the meadow out back. It is relaxing, quiet and unique and had everything we needed for our stay. 100% recommend.

Quiet little Basecamp

This was a lovely little spot that served as Basecamp for my island adventure. Anna's property is beautiful. The bathroom clean. The wifi strong (unreal on the island). If tenting be mindful of the size of your tent. This private wooded spot in the trees can only really support a 4 person tent max. The little things make this a great spot. From the stained glass lampshade that's perfect to hang your light from to the perfectly placed hammock. Careful you may gall asleep in it and wake up in the middle of the night as I did.
