We had a great overnight in the smaller cabin. Everything was exceptionally clean and there were more accomodations than expected (microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot). The cabins are wonderfully wooded and secluded. Carl made sure we had everything we needed, even pancakes in the morning! We would 100% stay here again.
Great cabin, great host!
We loved our stay during October Fest! The cabin was very cute! Something the listing didn’t say was that there was a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster in the cabin! Also a fan, ac and heat. Carl and his family were so great! They even had pancakes, juice, and coffee for everyone in the morning. My kids had such a great time they wants to stay for “100 years”!
Our stay here was so lovely!
Carl was very welcoming and accommodating. He made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed.
The cabin was clean and beautiful with all the essentials! The bed’s were comfy too. We really enjoyed spending time with the cat that roams the grounds and were very amused with the mannequin that moved to a different location everyday. My friend was a little spooked but I thought it was hilarious.
We would definitely come back!
It was very peaceful. The host was helpful and always willing to lend a hand. The cabin was clean and tucked back away from everything. Nice view of the stars on a clear night and close to hiking trails. I’d totally go back. Oh! There’s also a fenced in area for dogs to run around. My dog was living his best life there.
Great experience at walkabout creek
My wife and I stayed 5 nights in cabin 1 at walkabout. From the very start of our reservation Carl was helpful and quick to respond to any questions we may have had. Upon arrival our cabin was quiet and cozy nestled in the woods with a large site. Carl was right there waiting to help us with any gear we had to carry. He explained he had just aquired the campground after growing up in the area and spending much of his childhood there. We could tell right away his heart was in the camp and he was quick with info
(very knowledgeable) on the area and nearby trails.
At one point in the trip we were traveling a back road and came across an abandoned dog chained to a tree. After getting it some food and water we went to Carl. Within an hour he had the dog rescued. What an experience. The camp was great, carl was a great host. Lucy and Maze (camp kitties) were also very welcoming.
We look forward to bringing our kids out and excited to see what Carl has in store for the camp. Thank you Carl
for your hospitality. Mary and I really enjoyed our stay.
Very nice cabin! Clean & Welcoming! AC and celing fan were a winner for me! Large, Private open area around our cabin that my little ones enjoyed adventuring around! I loved that our cabin had 4 bunks in a seperated room from the main bed. My older daughter definitely enjoyed the loft bed!
Picnic table, fire pit, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Everything we needed. Awesome area to walk our dogs around. Our stay was enjoyed by all 7 of us plus the two dogs haaa! Will definitely be booking again in the future!
Host was wonderful. Helped us bring our stuff up to the cabin. Very kind. Thank you, Carl! Best of luck on your endeavors with the campground. I see wonderful things happening for you!
Just what we needed!
We booked this trip on the fly when we decided we were going to stop in Ohio on our way back from VA. We ended up getting in super late around 1am. Our host Carl was awesome! He waiting for us to get in and then helped us find our cabin. He also brought all of our bags to the cabin in his side by side which was great! The cabin was stocked with a mini fridge, coffee maker, wet wipes, paper towel, and toilet paper. The beds were actually really comfortable and they had sheets and plenty of pillows!! We didn't stay around the Campground, as we spent our days at Hocking Hill. (1.5 hours away)
Overall, we would come back and recommend for anyone traveling in that area!
