Our little campground is nestled in the corner of one of our pasture fields and surrounded by trees and nature. There is a rustic driveway all the way down to the camping area. There is a larger open area the campers can set up tents and also multiple sites in the woods where campers can enjoy the seclusion and beauty of nature. There is a small stream below the campground that they are welcome to explore and we have some trails mowed that can be hiked. We are a pet friendly campground but we just ask that you keep a close eye on your pets and don't allow them to chase or disturb the cattle on the farm. There are fields down around the campground and in the spring campers will quite often see cattle and even new baby calves with their mothers. The cattle are very tame but don't try to pet them. There is a 3/4 acre pond above the campground that the campers are welcome to fish in the pond and if they swim they must do it at their own risk.

Price is based on 11 years old and older, Children 10 and under are free. The lower area campground that has signs say reservations only called Kirmit’s Bottom is only to be camped in when approved by Matt. It is for larger groups. We do have a couple of sites also that you must have 4x4 to get to and you also need to talk to Matt beforehand. We try to provide firewood available for purchase at all times but there will be times when I’m not able to do that so you can bring a saw or hatchet and cut any down wood in the woods. Also toilet paper is some thing that you should bring because at times the Porta-Johns run out. If you are a bicyclist coming from the trail make sure you exit the trail at Walmart and map up county road 58 to get to the camp (2.5miles), that way is blacktop otherwise it will bring you in the gravel side.

Primitive camping has its own risks associated with it, anyone camping at Turkey Hollow acknowledges that risk by camping here and will not hold Turkey Hollow or its owner liable for any injuries or damage that might take place while camping here.

The campground at Turkey Hollow was great, lots of trees, nice spots to camp. Where we camped, It was a bit far from the portapottie, so that was tough in the middle of the night.

If you’re bike touring, the road coming into the campground has some steep inclines on County Road 58. We chose this over the really steep dirt road option. Turkey Hollow is at the bottom of the property and wider tires work better on the gravel driveway going down into the Hollow.
If you’re riding an overpacked bike or one that’s heavy, you will be walking your bike up and down the hills.

Beautiful location! Really enjoyed our stay here. No firewood available during our trip but plenty to forage. Great hammock trees. Would come back and stay again!

First off. It is so tucked away. Its almost impossible to explain how one minute youre on a road, then up a hill near other residentials, finally in either seclusion or open-ish area. Im disappointes in myself for not having enough time (showing up nearly at daybreak: sept/6-7pm su set). Very beautiful, especially once you pass the "by reservation" area.

I will definitely come again to complete my stay.

I was bikepacking the Ohio to erie tail and stopped for one night at rustic knolls to tent camp. Frank III was way cool, friendly and helpful and, most importantly, a kindred spirit for the love of old Volkswagens. The place had a nice family vibe that most other places on my trip just seem to have missed. Anyhow, it was a great stay along the way and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

It was very quiet and unlike any other site I’ve been too. Very primitive. We had a friendly golden retriever (the farm dog) visit us and it made our evening! It’s a challenge to get into your site and some sites just aren’t worth the trouble although I heard those were the best ones! Wood is $5 a handful, but being in the woods, there was an abundance of sticks and branches. I guess you can arrive any time and I wasn’t sure about leaving anytime on your last day, so we left at the typical 11am clock out like most sites. The own was very difficult to get ahold of. We had no service to look up our questions and it seemed like he was impossible to reach, but overall he was a great friendly guy, obviously a busy man which is no worries! There’s only one porta potty, which was inconvenient and the lack of showers really was unfortunate. The area is absolutely beautiful, lots of trails to follow, it has a nice pond you can fish in and swim in, and the cows were a nice touch. And conveniently, there was a town close by made getting our essentials easier when we forgot things! The whole experience was wonderful, and something unlike any camping I’ve done in Ohio! Highly recommend!
