Great farm with lots of goats, sheep, chickens and friendly cats. Met by friendly bee farmer Rebecca who showed us around. Had a lot of fun even though it rained heavily.

Although the roosters are up bright and early and there’s occasional road noise, this camp is in a great location. You feel like you’re out in the country, even though it’s just a short drive to Canal Winchester and Columbus. Our host was friendly, responsive, and accommodating.

Katherine's very welcoming and friendly, and she and Rebecca were more than willing to show us around the farm. My fiancée and I were on a camping trip and needed a place to set up a tent. There was a fenced-in area with a tree and a patch for campfires. Katherine directed us where to park, and there were sheep, chickens, and very sweet cats just milling about near the barn. It was just what we needed! There was a country road we were able to bicycle on, and it was close to Columbus. A brewery called BrewDog was only 8 minutes away. We had a very pleasant stay, and if we're in Ohio again, we would love to check this place out again.

Great camping, sad animals

The camping was great, the condition of the animals was a bit sad. Several of the sheep appeared to have hoof rot, one was walking on its knees. Several more had bloody noses and active congestion. We never even saw the goats,
I really struggled writing this review, I am sure the owner has good intentions and is working hard and I want to support their endeavor. I know my way around farms, I'm not just a city slicker who is afraid of a bit of excrement, but we won't be going back.

Response from Katherine, the Host, on September 21st, 2021

Hello Rebecca! This farm is my heart & soul, and the animals here are my family. I am always happy to answer any questions which our guests have about our animals. I am passionate about farming, and I enjoy sharing the tenets which shape my approach to farming. I also love sharing the stories of our animals. I am always glad to answer any questions which our visitors have! It sounds as though you met Finn Lambkins, our herd bellwether who is very dear to me. Finn was a bottle baby who I raised. He spent the first weeks of his life living in the kitchen, as we nurtured him through various health issues. Finn is a notorious character, and is well-loved. He does sometimes choose to walk on his knees (despite receiving routine health care). Hoof maintenance is a continual task, especially as part of summer care for the herds. Because this is a real working farm, I do not hide away animals who are navigating challenges. I am glad to share information about our approach to animal care, and introduce visitors to the animals. I am sorry that you did not get to meet any of the goats! They always enjoy visitors (sometimes too much, when they wander over to investigate camp sites!). The goats reside in the west pasture and sleep in the west end of the barn. Many of the yoga goats like to hang out at the gate waiting for attention from visitors. Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Garden Goat, and all their friends always appreciate seeing visitors! Just as sniffles can impact humans, sniffles can also impact animals. Part of my role as a farmer is to provide appropriate health care for each creature. Sometimes sniffles are very minor, and sometimes they can indicate something larger — again, very similar to respiratory impact in humans. I am always happy to discuss our herd health care protocols. I like being able to share information about the farm, and I am sorry that I was unaware of your questions & concerns until you posted publicly. The farm is literally my favorite thing to talk about, and I would have been happy to share more with you about our animals!

It was so nice to stay here and have a safe place to spend the night on our road trip to Iowa. Katherine was one of the nicest people ever and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at her farm. We wish we could have stayed longer and got to meet some of the animals but we had to continue our drive! We did though get to see one of the chickens this morning and it was nice to see at least one of the animals!
